No Knott and Klein...

Morris is a good linebacker with an opportunity to become a great linebacker before he's out of school. In fact, I expect him to do just that

Knott and Klein are already great linebackers. I expect both to be drafted, how high, and if they stick to a team is to be determined.

Lateralus, you should not lean on bleacher report as some kind of justification that Morris is better than K & K.

ISU fans - we should not be butt-hurt about a bleacher report article.

Lets calm down. Knott and Klein are great ISU linebackers. Are they pros? Maybe. Relax people.

This. Klein and knott are studs, but not the level of athletic freak that Morris can't pass them up.

Morris will probably get drafted ahead of either, because unfortunately Ferentz has developed a track record of producing NFL talent, which leads to his lesser talented players getting drafted over more talented ISU players because we don't have that reputation. How else do you explain Bernstine getting drafted over LJ? I know Hawk fans that will tell you that LJ is a better football player. However, the NFL draft is just microwaved group think and once a coach gets a reputation for churning out NFL picks, their guys will be drafted even if they aren't good.

BR sucks. period.

My hawk friend (who is one of the rare good ones) and is not just some internet troll told me he'll be so happy for next year when we lose Knott and Klein. He actually follows CFB and anyone who does with any regularity knows they are both legit NFL prospects.

Morris may get drafted ahead of either because he's a damn good FB player that we denigrate simply because he plays at Iowa. That being said, I'll take both Knott and Klein over him, but I'm a homer and I just don't know who's better.

Keep your eyes open for the Butkus Award watch list and the Lott Impact Award watch list. These are both legit and will give you a great idea of what people think of them. Also, when it comes to the NFL draft, it's all about measurables, team needs, and fit..... not necessarily what took place on the field during their college career. This is why guys we expect to get drafted don't, and guys we don't expect do.

I agree that Morris is very good, and draft worthy, but I don't know that he's better than Knott and Klein. I'll guarantee that he gets drafted higher because he played for Kirk Feretnz though.

Which brings a question: If Iowa churns out so many players into the NFL, why don't they win more? Is it because Ferentz is a poor coach, or is it because the NFL routinely drafts guys who weren't great college players?

I suspect that its more of the latter, but its still an interesting discussion.

As a Hawk fan, I agree with your Hawk friend. I cannot wait until Klein and Knott graduate, the guys are absolute nightmares. Any Hawk fan who tells you they wouldn't absolutely love to see them in black and gold is delusional.

I don't think Morris should be on the list, not yet. I think he has the potential, as someone mentioned earlier that he is a freak athlete. I also think he is playing the wrong position (i do not claim to know anything about that, just the opinion of an overweight CFB fan), I think he'd be better served playing on the edge.

I don't think its any secret that the rumblings in IC are that Morris isn't even the best MLB on the team, I think that designation nation would have to go to the Alston kid from Jersey.

Where is Morris at on all the preseason Big 10 lists in publications?

Knott and Klein are pretty much preseason 1st team all Big 12 LBs in every publication. I have no idea where Morris is listed, and I don't feel like researching some Iowa player I don't care about.

But if we were making the best team we could out of all the Iowa and ISU players, I'd pick Knott and Klein ahead of Morris, but I would probably pick Morris as my 3rd starting LB.

dont know if this has been shared yet. ISU has 2nd rated lineback group in nation according to lindy.
with klein as 2nd rated inside linbacker, and knott as 7th rated outside linbacker. no morris to be seen
Man, you guys are uptight. They are all good LB's, and Morris is only a Junior, so he's probably not getting drafted this year. The big 10 has several very good LB's that are all better than Morris, Klein, and Knott, in Hodges, Taylor, Borland, Allen, and Brown, probably also why Morris wouldn't be 1st team big 10. Couple that with the big 12 being very down in LB talent this year, and preseason all big anything means nothing. With that being said, I'm going to be very happy when those two graduate.

I would take Morris in Cardinal and Gold any day, but if I get to pick I would take Arthur Brown:yes: as our ILB.

I do think the sad truth will be that JK and AK will be drafted too low, the awesome truth is that whoever nabs these two guys will be getting two absolute steals who will represent ISU and their NFL teams very well in years to come. And not to start a fight but I have an inkling that AK47 has a better NFL career than JK, not for lack of love on my part for JK.
