well for one, it seems like “paying for an interview” is really “paying for playing at A&M”. For a member of the media to do this doesn’t sit right with me. Second, by revealing how much they paid for the interviews, I’m afraid that it will turn into a pissing match between who can spend the most money to get headlines and exposure. Especially with the lack of restrictions on NIL right now.

Competitive balance was why the original rules were in place. It’s unfortunate the NCAA sat on this until governments became involved. They’ve lost the ability regulate it at all, and now the baby is out with the bath water.
