NIL and Gambling

Does that mean they shouldn't enforce under age gambling violations from the student body?
Absolutely not. But general student body underage infractions are a police problem, not an AD problem. What it means is that even if they ARE of legal age, student athletes are not allowed to gamble.

Just my perspective... it hurts the overall We Will collective when stupid **** like this happens through no fault of We Will... @brentblum

To be fair, nobody wants to donate a hundred bucks only to find out later, what happened, etc.

BUT at the same time it isn't a zero sum game. WE NEED WE WILL to be at least reasonably competitive compared to our peers. That is a hard line to walk and figure all that out. Nobody else is going through a DCI thing? Right? Every other player that isn't in Iowa can spend their NIL money how they please... right? Is that a fair thing?

My 2cents...

For what it’s worth, Riverside Casino gave the Iowa NIL Collective $500,000 to be the official casino of the Swarm Collective. We Will not do this for a variety of reasons.
Is one of those reasons because there hasn't been an offer from a casino for $500,000? I understand what you are saying, but it's easier to take the high road when there isn't half a million dollars on the table.

Ahhh, the Hok apologist troll trying to say "you guys would engage in shady dealings and ****** conduct if you could".

How utterly predictable from such a low brow bunch.

It raising money for your NIL is ****** conduct, I have news for you, this is the new landscape of college football. Not sure how this is shady dealings?

You probably don't condone ISU taking money from ESPN any more then?

There is nothing shady about what they are doing. And it is hard to take the high road when Ames Lager appears to be the on the verge of (if not already there) becoming the main contributor to the WW collective.

Alcohol and gambling are both vices that are fine when not abused and done within one's means, but we've all seen instances where abuse or ignorance of either has led to negative outcomes.

I understand your point but our board has decided to not entertain or engage with any gaming companies. And this was a decision made prior to May.

It could be worse. We could have found out Tampa was involved after the feel good stories about keeping him. Give him credit.

The beer and vodka revenue will not be in the same stratosphere of revenue generated from individual and company donations. That’s what makes the biggest impact.
