Nick Babb Outlook

I don't want to hear a thing about depth next year, or hear about that as an excuse for poor defense/rebounding if we're already talking about red shirting guys

I have a very good feeling Prohm won't be referring to his 7 or 8 man rotation next season. Because for starters, it's stupid, and as was already stated, a players minutes in a game will be determined by our skills needed for the opponent.

I think it would probably be smart for Long to redshirt, but we'll see.

How will minutes be split between all of our guards (assuming 3 guard line up)? 120 minutes available between Monte, Matt, Naz, Hallice, Babb, Jackson, and Long. Will Deonte see some guard minutes as well?

It doesn't leave much for the rest if we assume Monte, Matt, and Naz get 30 minutes each.

Is there a chance Long redshirts?

I'll be pretty surprised if all those guys are playing for Iowa State next year. I expect 1-2 guards to either 1. leave for the NBA, 2. transfer, 3. de-commit, 4. be injured, or 5. not be granted a 5th year of eligibility.

Add to that that 1 or 2 guys who won't be ready and/or are just out competed for minutes and there you go. I doubt we'll have a bunch of guards who we want to play against WVU but just can't find the minutes for.

I consider Babb and MT "frontcourt" players on next years team. They will be in the Nader role.

The most important question: will all the ladies (and many dudes) fawn over him as much as they did Chris?

I'm straight as they come but Chris Babb was one delicious slice of human.

I'm pretty sure I'm straighter than you.

I think fewer dudes do than you think. I think you are in the minority.

Anyway, back to Babb. My opinion is he competes with Jackson and Cooke for the few backup PG minutes and competes with J. Long for some backup big guard minutes.

Who's going to leave though. I doubt Hallice or Babb are going to since they've already transferred. Naz and Matt aren't. Jackson and Long committed knowing the situation. Monte could go pro but I don't think he will.

This has never been discussed.

You could have an overabundance of guards who can play and still have a depth issue if you don't have any reserves who can play that stand over 6'7".

Umm what? The only ones who could potentially leave are Morris to go Pro, or Long not being granted a medical RS which he will. I guess injury could happen, but really?

Babb at PG? Doubt it. He'll mostly play the 3 just like his brother did. And he will play.
