I don't want to hear a thing about depth next year, or hear about that as an excuse for poor defense/rebounding if we're already talking about red shirting guys

New strategy: recruit based on basketball heritage. No muggles.
How will minutes be split between all of our guards (assuming 3 guard line up)? 120 minutes available between Monte, Matt, Naz, Hallice, Babb, Jackson, and Long. Will Deonte see some guard minutes as well?
It doesn't leave much for the rest if we assume Monte, Matt, and Naz get 30 minutes each.
Is there a chance Long redshirts?

The most important question: will all the ladies (and many dudes) fawn over him as much as they did Chris?
I'm straight as they come but Chris Babb was one delicious slice of human.
If they don't have some Wilt DNA in them, pass.

I think fewer dudes do than you think. I think you are in the minority. The most important question: will all the ladies (and many dudes) fawn over him as much as they did Chris?

But, doesn't everybody?
I'll be pretty surprised if all those guys are playing for Iowa State next year. I expect 1-2 guards to either 1. leave for the NBA, 2. transfer, 3. de-commit, 4. be injured, or 5. not be granted a 5th year of eligibility.
Add to that that 1 or 2 guys who won't be ready and/or are just out competed for minutes and there you go. I doubt we'll have a bunch of guards who we want to play against WVU but just can't find the minutes for.
Who's going to leave though. I doubt Hallice or Babb are going to since they've already transferred. Naz and Matt aren't. Jackson and Long committed knowing the situation. Monte could go pro but I don't think he will.
You could have an overabundance of guards who can play and still have a depth issue if you don't have any reserves who can play that stand over 6'7".I don't want to hear a thing about depth next year, or hear about that as an excuse for poor defense/rebounding if we're already talking about red shirting guys

Anyway, back to Babb. My opinion is he competes with Jackson and Cooke for the few backup PG minutes and competes with J. Long for some backup big guard minutes.
Competition for minutes a good thing.
