Nice start Big 10

USC is starting a bunch of true freshmen, and Nebraska is a pretty veteran team. It showed a bit too with USC making a lot of stupid mistakes, penalties, etc. But USC clearly had the more talented team. They are going to be REALLY good in another year or two when all those true freshmen get a little experience.

That's pretty much like TCU. They played a bunch of true freshman, and got really good the next year.

USC is doing everything they can do to lose it. 8 penalties in the 1st and a dropped int.

Dropping 3 int's right in their lap and shooting themselves in the foot with dumb penalties all night, USC would have lost by 20 to a good team. I will give Nebby credit in that they did play inspired football for Cotton against that young USC team. I've always respected Barney going back to his ISU days and kind of surprising he's never had his shot as a head coach.

Illinois could have easily won that game. They blew it big time. Dtackle was running a fumble back for 6 to take the lead late in the fourth and fumbled it back to LTech who then scored a TD and blew it open late. Illinois had that game, or should have.

Given our history in bowl games I wouldn't talk to much. We have sucked which is putting it nicely.

I'll give you that the final score was a little deceptive, but saying Illinois should have won when they lost by 3 scores is a bit of a stretch. Now losing by one point because you have a kicker that couldn't make most high school teams is something to shake your head over.
