i'm with you. The NFL has always had a strict dress code. The powers that be are very serious about uniformity in uniforms. Don't ask me why, but it's nothing new. Players try to push the boundaries and get told to stop or fined. John Randle and his warpaint. Deion and his headband. There are plenty of examples over the years. The league is serious about uniforms to an almost comical extent. So what? It doesn't change a damned thing about the game.

During his first few years in the league, Fred Jackson would use Eye Black to write "D" under one eye and "III" under the other, representing his Division III background. He didn't get caught until he became a starter and the league fined him each time until he quit, even though he had done it for years without them noticing.
