This is basically like your boss at the office telling you you can't use the coffee mug that says "world's best dad" on it.

The real problems is you lazy and entitled cretins who focus on your hedonistic fun.
Get rid of the fun stuff. Next step: Eliminate color. That will make every ville a pleasant ville.
Football uniforms in grayscale! And out of the tunnel in their fearsome, but not too audacious, gray and a slightly darker gray uniforms, the Denver Broncos!

I must not be a very fun guy, because I just don't see the outrage here.

i'm with you. The NFL has always had a strict dress code. The powers that be are very serious about uniformity in uniforms. Don't ask me why, but it's nothing new. Players try to push the boundaries and get told to stop or fined. John Randle and his warpaint. Deion and his headband. There are plenty of examples over the years. The league is serious about uniforms to an almost comical extent. So what? It doesn't change a damned thing about the game.

During his first few years in the league, Fred Jackson would use Eye Black to write "D" under one eye and "III" under the other, representing his Division III background. He didn't get caught until he became a starter and the league fined him each time until he quit, even though he had done it for years without them noticing.
