Next year's schedule

It looks to me like we will probably start 2-6 and will have to win our last four games to become bowl eligible.

The schedule for next year and even the year after has been discussed quite a bit. Won't be easy, the challenge should be fun.

I'm assuming you are giving us wins against NIU and UNI. You don't think we can beat Tech at home? I don't think that's a given loss. UNI always plays us tough too, so I don't see that as a given win either. And who knows what Utah will be like next year as well. Nevertheless, it will be hard to beat this year's record next year, even if we end up 5-7 this season.

UNI is a given next year... guranteed win... ill bet any amount of money... outside of that it is going to fun! the two game road stretch of OU, Texas always stinks, but what ever.

This was the year to play OU as well. Hopefully they are still down next year. A win over them or UT would be HUGE for our program. Ask K-State....they have been deemed "respectable" because they have put it to Texas over the past couple of years. ISU needs something like that to happen next year.

Wow, I don't think I've ever really taken a close look at that schedule. That has to be one of the toughest schedules out of any team next year. Iowa on the road, then a home stand versus Utah, UNI, and Texas Tech, and a road trip against Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas. Depending on how Kansas finishes, I don't think it'll be TOO bad, but by then the guys could be beaten up, demoralized...

A hot start is imperative to next year's success. Nothing less than 4-1.

I don't think next years is all that bad. 2011 is freaking brutal...the best team in the country would struggle with that schedule.

Looking at the schedule, we could go 2-2 in non conference, but to get the rest of our wins, we will need beat most of the North Teams. Who knows how Tech is going to play, maybe their offense will be hot when they place us, maybe it will be cold.

This year we lost to KSU and lost 2 out of 3 against the South.

Next year - turn the table on KSU and pull out a South win and we are ahead of the game.

I also like the chances against the North teams that we get at Jack Trice next year.

7 or 8 wins. I think the only games that we can't win are Texas and Oklahoma. Utah, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas Tech will be tough.

4-0 into conference... and then 4-4 in conference.

8-4 off to the Alamo or similar.

I think a few CFmemebers said it best a few weeks back: the next few years is a nasty schedule - but it's also an opportunity to make some noise. If we can get 2 big upsets in there we will get a great deal of attention next season.

I think we've got a good shot at Iowa next year.

Yeah, I said it.

Exactly. Who gives a damn where we play the South teams, or which South teams we play? There is a whole slew of South teams that will be difficult no matter when, no matter where.

The key is to beat the North teams, and next year we have KU, MU, NU at home, plus KSU neutral. All of those games are winnable. Even assuming we can't win in IC, we have 2 solid chances at home non-conference wins plus Utah coming in (no idea). Add to it a CU team that may be under new leadership and we can be in the hunt for 6-7 wins again.

Now the 2011 schedule is a real butt kicker.
