Should be a huge test 5 loses to quality teams.
Lose QB, 3 OL and a DL, 2 LB and a DB.

The positive I take out of yesterday is we got a wake up call that we aren't there yet and hopefully that we aren't talented enough to beat anyone based simply on who we are and what conference we play in.

I think JB is the type of kid that would work his tail off in the off season but now every QB on this roster sees that the job for next year hasn't been secured.

Really looking forward to seeing how Standard, Nealy, Lampkin and the big receivers push our returners for playing time. We lose 2 really good OLinemen but we return more then I can ever remember.

Defensively upfront Rump will be missed but we have so many guys that will be a year better. If Porter is as good as advertised our LBs could be as good as anyone in the country.
As for the DBs the open safety spot has plenty on candidates but replacing a lockdown corner is no easy task.

WVa possibly getting stuck in the Big East another year giving us another noncon might be a blessing record wise but I think a winning record in the Big XII is the step myself and most of this fanbase is looking for.

I agree. Bring on the next guys, as I want to see how some of CPR's new recruits can play. Season's over, but I'm already looking forward to 2012. Go State!

Tulsa will be a very strong test for us next year. They are probably as good or better than Uconn. At least we get them at home. With them on the schedule and playing at Kinnick, 2-1 would be pretty good and 3-0 would be amazing.

Tulsa will be a good match up. I live in Tulsa, and remember the game against oSu and how bad the storms were.

Check out their 4 losses during regular season....all top 10 teams....BUT the closest one was 20pts. They're a good team for sure, but thats in C-USA. They aren't BIG 12 level.

I like playing a tough opener before we have to go to Iowa City. I'd rather get tested and face adversity in the opener like UNI this year rather than blowing out a creampuff. If we can come away 2-0 then we get to take it easy with a slouch and get a week off before going to Austin

Didn't think Rutgers was Big XII level either..................

I see this game a lot like Northern Illinois in 2010. N Ill went 11-2 that year i think (including our loss) We won 27-10... 17-0 at half, they battled back to within 7, then we scored twice late.

Good early season test before the iowa game. Tulsa is a good enough team/program that they will give us a good game.

Rutgers is in a BCS conference and went 9-4. They have a great head coach and have won 5 straight bowl games the most in all of college football.

no slouch team to lose to
