I've kept my mouth shut about Downey, but he's an embarrassment to his team and university. KJ and even his wife have asked him to shut up. A little trash talk is fine, but what he is doing is just making us the laughing stock of wrestling right now. He needs to just chill out a bit.
He has to realize that the team isn't wrestling up to expectations regardless of the excuses, unfortunately pollards hand was forced he had no choice but to let KJ go.

Also good to see storr tweet that he isn't leaving, my guess Parker isn't either. Hopefully Vega doesn't those three could solidify 125-141 next year alone.
I did see that Ethan smith wants his release as well.

Smith has come out to say he isn't closing the door completely on Iowa State. That's more than others have said.
Also kinda sucks that this came out now, we are going to have to wait till march till an announcement is made.

Sounds like Storr REALLY wants the Paulsons to be kept around, in some capacity at least. Whoever the next head coach is, I think he'd be mistaken to not try and keep them here.

Clearly he didn't want to wrestle badly enough to, you know, wrestle.
After taking last weekend off Downey can't be silver standard and earn an allocation. So of he slips up at all at Big XIIs he won't even be making the trip to St. Louis.
Maybe it's been mentioned already - please tell me Pollard broke the news to the wrestling team himself, like in a team meeting? Right?
Someone should inform him that since he has already transferred once even if Iowa State released him he would have to sit next year, thus using up all of his eligibility.

matclone the Bulgarian was a University World Bronze, believe he is 19. It was a great match with Storr losing it at the end. IMO he looked good and was impressed with him moving forward staying in good position. Can't help but get excited about him and Parker - nice to have something to look forward to.
