New Uniforms Revealed

Like this combo for Arizona State this week. They should use a version of Sparky full-time.

I am fairly certain that some coaches like that the numbers can be harder to read. Set up position groups with similar looking numbers so that opposing teams have a harder time immediately recognizing personel and packages. Just a bit of gamesmanship.
Until it messes up the officials and costs your team. Remember the game where a Kolar TD got called back because Soehner 89 was lined up ineligible and they confused it for Kolar's 88?

Just a white outline on the numbers can make all the difference - this is all we need on our jerseys, white outlines on our numbers, or white numbers with a gold outline (I prefer the former)
Concur. And bring that into the pants too. I'm over the boring pants.

Notice the white accents on the jersey. A lack of white on our jersey is what is throwing everything off.

Even a single-stripe on the pants could help.

The only time when blank-white pant it's truly sore-thumb is C-C-W, but W-C-W also would benefit with some accent on the pants.
Our uniforms are vanilla...just like our...

Our, you know...

I keep thinking they’re going to do the Trice Stripe logo on one side of the helmet at some point. Thought one of the staffers hinted at using it at one point.
Which side would they put it? Makes a big difference!

It will be an unbalanced look either way. They will then either run off tackle right or off tackle left, the majority of times. ; )

Insight from PJ Fleck on how game uniforms are selected:

A couple interesting points: 1., a leadership committee & board of directors made up of players select the uniforms/combinations (in most cases) & 2., he mentions getting donations to add a new set to the collection

I would assume this is how most teams, including Iowa State, does it...

Iowa State needs some more donors who are passionate about uniforms... if I had the means...

The players should have vetoed this garbage:
