You've done a good job.... I personally just don't like the look at all.
Either go with the block letter I-State logo, or go with the Jack Trice stripes.... but not both combined.... that's just ugly.
I can't take credit for original design, by @BMWallace ... mine is only a color tweak.
I don't know if I like the concept, although I appreciate the design effort. Maybe a bit too busy.
There could be a way to merge I-State w/ Trice logo, but I'd have to see some other ideas.
Could you take the current block I-State logo and put the Trice stripes in place of the “A”? Or would that look dumb too?

Looks awesome, but isn’t there something about the numbers needing to contrast with the jersey color more and this not being enough?
There are people in the comments saying the University won’t allow yellow to touch black.
The last chrome appearances were @ TCU and Kansas State. Both humiliating losses. So I guess it's cursed. I personally loved them, but chrome helmets everywhere are "two thousand-and-late" now anyways.
Honestly, dislike. It all seems too busy and I hate black and yellow together at all. If cardinal were the only color used, I could get behind some outlining of the numbers and all the I-State logos used in cardinal as well. (Something very simple.)
But really, the black and white is working. Looks really sharp and the team made their mark in that uni. Feels like a storm is coming when we wear those. And, we're the Cyclones....

Not a fan. Only slightly better than the all yellow clown uniforms we had. Hurts the eyes. I think black uniforms only work with one other main color, more than that and it's too much. Would have to be cardinal I think.
There is probably something to this. The word is CMC is pretty superstitious about uniforms. I wonder if that means we'll do something different than red on red for cyhawk.
The execution, considering it’s a Paint-level color fill? Sure. The concept of the color combination? I think that’s a different story.
All of it. Clown show of a uniform. Looks like someone barfed Crayola Bold Markers all over our classic black and whites.

Agree. If we ever added color, this is the way to do it.
But again, the black and white (that we currently do) got me thinking... It was a really original idea by Iowa State. Who else in the country just goes to a black and white look (switching out a color scheme)? The answer is NOBODY. Oregon has a zillion different looks, but they didn't use only black/white. It's actually pretty awesome that we have an original idea/look.
Again, black and white feels like a storm to me. And, we're the Cyclones - it's a big-game feel wearing them.
