Or even better "Leaning Cy" leaning against the Iowa State 'I'. I have a black hat with that on it and I recently learned from random hawk fan that the hawkeyes invented - along with waving, the color black and several other things - the letter 'I'.He needs slapped on a helmet for atleast one game. Since the debut of the black jersey (WVU 2018), there have been 21 games where ISU has been the "home" team -- whether it was a home game, or wearing the "home" uniform at a neutral site (Orlando, Arlington, Glendale).
Cardinal jersey - 11 (3x with black helmets)
Black jersey - 10 (8x with black pants, 2x with white pants)
I bet they'd look a lot more similar if the lighting was the same.

I would like the Jack Trice throwbacks again
They need to come out really big with Jack Trice throwbacks in just a couple of years. 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of his death.
As an ISU alum, I've never cared for the red/yellow - let's leave that for USC - and would like to see the 'clones dump that and permanently adopt the colors you'd encounter as an EF5 tornado bears down across an Iowa dirt field - Iowa topsoil black, stormcloud grey, cumulonimbus white for trim. Cyclone is a powerful team name - let's go all in with it and dump Cy. Fire up the storm siren!

Near as I can tell, cyclone is valid term for tornado:
cyclone: a system of winds rotating inward to an area of low atmospheric pressure, with a counterclockwise (northern hemisphere) or clockwise (southern hemisphere) circulation
“Hurricanes are tropical storms that form over the North Atlantic Ocean and Northeast Pacific. Cyclones are formed over the South Pacific and Indian Ocean.”

Not if you look at how the term Cyclone was used in history, how we got our name. Cyclones, is/was a term for tornados especially in rural central US.
And trying to say we got our name from a tropical storm in the Indian Ocean instead of a slang term used for Tornados in Rural Midwest in the early 20th century, makes NO sense.
Let's be the Whirlwinds...that has a badass Biblical feel to it.
