New Uniforms Revealed

I know what we say on here probably doesn't matter one bit, but it's just stupid IMO for us to have a cardinal helmet, a cardinal chrome helmet, a white helmet, and a black helmet.... but no "gold" helmet. Same for jerseys and pants as well..... although I wouldn't care if we didn't have the "gold" jersey really.
I just feel like we really screwed up once again with this new uniform. I just don't understand how we always mess this thing up here at ISU? And it's been through many, many head coaches too.
If we have all the combos of cardinal, gold, and white all covered (helmet, jersey, pant).... then if you also have the money to come up with a "black out" uniform, then so be it. Personally, I'd prefer a light gray over black (lighter gray than what we had last year), but that's just me.
But the black collar on the cardinal jersey is just a total mess. The white jersey is the best one we've ever had, and the cardinal probably is too if it didn't have the stupid black collar. We probably will hardly EVER mix the black items with the cardinal and white. So we put a black collar on the cardinal jersey just in case we ever want to wear the black helmet with the cardinal jersey once every 4 years, while in the meantime ruining every other time we wear the cardinal jersey with anything else?
So we wanted to tie in the cardinal jersey with the black helmet, by putting some black in the cardinal jersey, but yet we didn't want to tie in any of our pants with our jerseys? Our white pants have no cardinal or gold in them, and our cardinal pants have no gold in them.
This was just totally botched, yet again. I will give them credit that the jerseys are probably the best we've had, minus the black collar on the cardinal one, but nothing really goes together. Just give us a gold helmet, gold pants, replace the black collar with a gold one, and put some Jack Trice stripes or something at the bottom of the pants to tie the pants into the rest of the uniform and we'd be looking good.

Stop talking about gold. It isn’t gonna happen. JFC, I open this thread to see the awesome new uniforms we got, not ******** about yellow.
Pff. It'll happen. Not this year obviously, but this staff loves mixing things up.

Have you noticed Campbell wears a lot of black? Or that we added anthracite uniforms? How many of the schools that wear black uniforms don't have one of their school colors for a uniform?
A lot of schools wear black without it being one of their colors. And because he wears black? Really? Everyone I know wears black. Not because its a school color.

For FB unis, I think it depends on the design. In the past, I don't think we've had good design on the uniforms to wear the gold looks its best.
Now, the design is getting closer but still needs some tweaking. Personally I would love to see us do a full gold option sometime soon, and every once in a while throw this out there, c/g/c.
Something about gold w/ our football unis turns some people off though. I would would love to see the c/g/c look, especially w/ the current design and if the collar was done right (above looks good to me).
Even better, with a gold option we would have the ability to do the c/c/g, g/c/g, like many of us want, we've done in the past, and is in our history. I'm not saying lets do this c/g/c look 2 or 3 times a year. But I gotta admit, it looks pretty *amn good.
There does seem to be a love/hate w/ our gold, and it is not always consistent. I also love the all gold BB look.Our gold is awesome. Period.

I actually really like this look, probably a 2nd favorite to the w/w/c.

I hear you. Not saying where I stand on this argument, could go either way really. We've had this discussion many times, and will probably continue to.
Currently the present AD is set on no significant (or any) change in current primary school colors. Who knows though, things can change.
I will say that the current football uniform design is getting closer (like I said) to being really good, IMO. For example, I love the collar on the white jersey. Tweak that some for the cardinal and (maybe future gold) gold jerseys, and you have something! And definitely put stripes back on the white pants.
I agree, I think our current unis are getting there, with a few minor tweaks is all I would like, mostly in the form of a few accents, like collar, stripes, etc. And I of course want a G/G/G set to mix in. Again, this may never be worn all together but just as pieces to mix and match. And still use our Cardinals as our primary, just use them as secondary and specials. Maybe only wear the Gold helmets a couple times a year, same with other pieces if that much. I just feel we need to have those options to mix in on occasion.
I get the gold talk but just remember cy is a cardinal not a goldfinch. So cardinal should be primary. And I don't mind the gold/ yellow.

The gold color worn by Stapelton’s teams was the best, second best was the gold worn by Bruce’s teams. In my opinion.
A sample of the majority of those ... I didn't include C-C-G, since we're familiar with its basic look from Rhoads-era standard home combo. It's possible some of these would look better/worse seeing it in action w/ full team.
