I explained to her they're actually black, and part of redesign. She probably doesn't follow uniform trends as closely as some of us.

At least they aren't green.

My Hawkeye friends were chirping early about how dumb the jerseys looked. Then it was radio silence after the first quarter. Shocker.

I thought they looked sharp under the lights. The numbers and name plates look sharp. But I agree that they're a little on the bland side. The chrome I-State logo or cardinal stencil would look better and cardinal accents on the jersey like many have mentioned. Throw in some cardinal accessories. But it looked like they were going for all-black everything with the socks and shoes. They're a good addition.

I actually really liked the potential when you could see the cardinal/gold pads peaking out from under the jerseys. I loved the B/W's for the simplicity but could also get behind what you've illustrated.
