I think it would help if the background wasn't red.

Sounds like a valid explanation; cardinal seems to blend into the surroundings.

When I saw that W-C-W, it didn't look sharp to me. Surprising, since that had been my favorite combo from the Rhoads-era uniforms.

Matte helmets are awesome. Would absolutely love it if we have matte cardinal and black this year.

I’m going to guess they get them in a little closer to football season. There’s not a ton at Scheels currently but they usually get a good amount of stuff for football season around the early/mid August

Had a butthurt Hawk fan friend text me (re: black uniforms):

"Is this a joke? Looks awfully familiar"

"Yeah, I think they look too much like TCU's too"

Hawkdom can not in anyway call out another school for borrowing a look.

That's the only reason they have their 'look'.

Personally the black reminds me of Tech for obvious reasons.

I like the unis. Make the season fun and I likely won't care.

Matte black would be ok, matte cardinal looks awful. Especially with the shiny logo sticker on there. So cheap looking.

All-cardinal helmet-jersey-pants look OK in samples I've seen. Viewing jersey-only, black collar annoys me.

They're growing on me a little bit, just still not sure why they felt the need to put black on them at all though? They didn't put black on the white jersey (thank God), so why put it on the cardinal?

BTW... Jalen Martin is a beast (far left #83). What a specimen for WR. And I was wondering who #3 was, but then remembered JaQuan Bailey changed to #3 this offseason. He's looking good too, better shape than last year IMO.
