New transfer target ...

Probably an unpopular opinion but if Dejulius is the best guy we get this offseason, Prohm won’t be around much longer.

Really hope we can get him. He would be a very good get. We need some positive recruiting news

Alright alright. I've been pretty vocal I can stomach one more down year if we have a couple/few studs waiting in the wings ready to get things back on track in 2021.

What's the story on Dejulius? Why is he leaving Michigan?

Is that why we just had to cut all the staffs salaries to get an extra 5 million to pay the bills?
$5M is the buyout next spring so yes if you want to look at it that way. Existing reserves exceed $5M.

The buyout is negotiable and the payout would likely be amortized over multiple years like it was for guys like Bo Pelini and Tim Miles at Nebraska.

Honestly I would say common sense unless we show some promise AND have some serious talent waiting in the wings (aka Carton)

If we *suck* next year, he is obviously gone.

But say this is an NIT team -- somehow -- and he has seniors Bolton, Conditt, and Johnson, the four sophomores taking the freshman-sophomore leap, a fresh recruiting class of high school and prep school players (way more Prohm's strength as a recruiter), and a guy or two coming off a RS as reinforcements for the 2021-2022 season.

That is, the roster is set to peak and/or redeem itself next year.

And if it won't work then, it will never work.

Does he get another year and one last chance to prove it or no...?

If Prohm has a bunch of guys and the season is a little rough but you can clearly see the talent ready to go off the next year, he will be givin the time needed. If Next season is like this one and a bunch of guys leave before and after the season and we are in the same spot after next season. He will be gone.

The buyout is negotiable if the coach agrees to make it negotiable.

If he doesn't make the tourney next year he's gone

I can just foresee us not making the tournament but the freshmen showing some promise and having some late success and we keep him around. I just don't get the sense JP likes to admit he was wrong.
