I had an evil plan to watch the Texas bowl on espn 360 replay to get a look at Rice, and then i remember the damn thing was on NFL Network.

I have no information with regard to the committed players, but according to Rice.Scout.com, there are at least three players that both Rice and ISU were recruiting for 2009.

I asked a Rice fan about Herman on another college football board. Here is what he had to say:
Dude is a very hard worker and, no joke, is a member of Mensa. Worked under Brown at Texas and was under Randelman at Sam Houston for their two long playoff runs. Then with Bailiff at Texas State and Rice. He just directed a 10 win season at RICE. We have run the spread for the past 5 years. Our graduating QB and WR have combined for more TD passes/catches than any duo in CFB. If it can work at RICE with "our" athletes, it should work well in the Big XII. Think a combo of Texas and Mizzu with a little Tech sprinkled in.
I think he is a great OC and I am sad to see him go. No one will out work him, and he calls a very smart game. Not sure how recruiting will go since most have not heard of him.

I would be excited about this hire as well. We certainly could afford him. I am reluctant to give 100% support because he has not faced too many teams that run a spread offense, and the majority of the Big XII offenses are running a spread of some form or another. That being said, he has a lot of experience. Iowa ties? Paul Rhoads ties?

Can Bo catch the ball? If he can he will see plenty of touches. He can't go to Auburn or any other SEC school anyway. I talked to an SEC buddy (who happens to be a recruiting coordinator) about it and apparently there is an SEC rule that even though he was gone a year he can not play at any other SEC school. He would also have a VERY hard time getting to ANY D1 school if he transferred...
