New OC announced on

Anybody know what type of offense he ran at Rice and what we can expect to see at ISU? I didn't watch them play at all this year.

As a team, the Owls ranked in the Top 10 nationally last fall for passing offense (5th at 327.8), scoring offense (tied for 8th at 41.6) and total offense (10th at 472.3). Rice was seventh nationally in first downs (309) and 12th in third-down conversion percentage (49.4%). Herman-led offenses broke Rice school records for points and touchdowns in a season both years.
The Owls’ spread attack completed nearly two-thirds (65.6%) of its passes and recorded a TD-to-interception ratio of 48-to-7, second-best in the nation (Oklahoma is 49-to-7 entering its final game). The quick-strike Owls had 30 scoring drives of five plays of less this season and 31 scoring marches of less than two minutes.

Wow. With the talent we have at WR and with Arnaud's arm our offense could be a lot of fun to watch this year!!!!

Ri-diculous! I've been hoping for an offense like this, and it's what we need to survive in the Big XII.

High powered spread

That is what I am thinking, with enough QB draws to catch them off guard and also a decent amount of RB carries to keep them honest. Now this is something to get excited about. Multi-dimensional attack, depending on circumstances.

This is a homerun hire.

Only problem is that offense wasn't our biggest issue last year.

Red zone offense was our second biggest problem...defense was the biggest.

Any doubts I had about the Paul Rhoads staff were pretty much answered with this hire.

DC will be important, but with CPR's background, it's not as much of a concern as OC.

Outstanding hire.

This guy is SMART. He is a Mensa member. PR was also Valedictorian at Ankeny. We are going to have some sharp minds working together.

Hopefully that pays off!!

We also had a problem of scoring in the red zone that could have won us probably 2 or 3 more games. We were too one-dimensional. That, now, seems like it's about to change!
