Yeah, this is generally speaking a tasteful update of their "classic" (at least by Buccaneer standards) 90s and early 00s uniforms that they won a trophy in.

I would much prefer teams are wearing something like that (e.g., the Vikings are a similar concept) to the cartoony nonsense many of them wear.

I am glad the Uni Watch leaks were accurate. Hopefully Cleveland and the LA Rams are going to release something similar in the next few weeks.
Talk is Browns one is going to be released on April 15.

This is still their best look --

I never liked their black helmets. A black logo on red helmets with a black jersey is them at their best, kind of like UGA with a black alternative jersey but better at it.

A gentle modernization of that (again, like the new Bucs or Vikings) would be great.

I disagree. I have never liked the red helmets over the black jersey. Red helmet over red jersey? I like it. Black helmet over red jersey? I like it. Red helmet over black jersey? Just does not look right IMO.

Like this era of Falcons jersey?

Trying to do a jersey built around four colors --

Red
Black
Gray
White

...never really works. Three (or sometimes two) is the right number.

I do not see why they need to try to shoehorn gray in there when they already have a ridiculously good color combination with red, black, and white going.

I agree a red/red/white would be a pretty good look for them, too. I just like the black because it is not so obviously derivative of UGA's look then.

That's because the Falcons' colors were derived primarily from UGA. But originally the red helmet had gold stripes, and that was to represent GA Tech.

As far as the '90s iteration of the uniforms, the silver was solely limited to the pants - the jerseys were a combination of black/white/red, while the helmets were solely black and white. In the current iteration of the uniforms, the silver is limited solely to the logo.

Personally, I wouldn't mind them keeping the logo and helmet the way they are (the logo has grown on me over the years), keeping the white pants or going back to silver/grey pants, and then having white, black, and red jerseys. For the color rush, add black or red pants. But I would definitely like to go to any of the traditional forms of the uniforms over the clown costumes they've been wearing for 17 years.

I always liked that little gold cameo in their original helmet for GT --

...even if the primary colors remain black, red, and white. It looks like the new Tampa Bay uniforms keep the orange cameo on the numbers and stripes, too, like their older 00s uniforms did, as a reference to the "creamsicle" for the franchise.

I generally agree with you there are a *ton* of things they can do better than their current look. I still think a black logo looks best on a red helmet, though, and hence my reservations about the 90s look. Too much black-and-silver always makes me feel like they are Raiders wannabes in the NFL (even if there is some red trim with Atlanta and blue trim with Carolina, another offender), so I think it is generally best to avoid that.

But there are tons of things you can do that would be upgrades.

Here is just one of a myriad of examples --

Falcons just put this out. Looks like April 14 is their release date:

Oh boy....hope these aren't the ones but here is a supposed leak of the new Falcons uniforms:

Barf.

It is like they took the current Cleveland Browns disaster (that they are hopefully leaving) and recolored everything black, red, and white in Microsoft Paint.

Yeah looks like they are going gradient at the bottom of those red jersey's? UGH

If that's the route they're going, it's better than what they have now, but i'm disappointed. I'm okay with the black and white, but the gradient red-black is really not good.

The white and black pieces aren’t terrible, but they’re better suited for the late ‘90s/early ‘00s, not for this era when teams are going back to more classic-style uniforms. They’re better than the set they’ve used for the last 17 years, but that’s not saying much. The red jerseys are terrible. The best in that set is the throwback they’re going to continue using.

I just realized, after getting a close up look at the red jerseys, the gradient is really similar to the Atlanta Hawks uniforms (another set I really don’t like).

Not a huge fan of the new font type.

Yep. Just make these the base set!

The new font is actually the font they’ve been using for 17 years now, they just made the number font match it now. I actually prefer it to the number font they have been using.

"ATL" seems minor league-ish.

ATL is basically a universally recognized symbol for the city, but yes, it does look amateurish on the jerseys.

That with a red helmet --

The new ones are bad and they should feel bad.

Fashion teacher me gives them an F and tells them to try again.

These would be bad for an Arena Football Team in 2006.

I think I understand what you're saying, that the number font matches the word font in this logo that includes text?

I actually don't hate the text version of that font. Maybe it's that the numbers look a little oversized (seems to be a current trend in football uniforms) to me on the jersey. I actually prefer the (now) old numbers more than the new, but they also resemble the traditional jersey number like the Ridley throwback in the previous posts.
