New CyHawk Trophy

I guess Nebraska will have something to say back when we laugh at the Heroes' game now. CRAP.

How painful must it have been for JP to actually be quoted saying he likes the trophy? Probably similar to what it would be like having all of your fingers broken, one at a time.

One hundred times better? Try again. It is actually infinitely better then this thing. No wonder people from the coasts still make jokes asking if Iowa has indoor plumbing or paved roads yet. I am shocked there wasn't an outhouse behind the mother and child.

This. Once again we have made ourselves a laughing stock. Even Nebraska and the ENTIRE south is laughing at us.

They must have left the design ideas to the Big 10.

Honestly, why not go with a giant combine, ear of corn, etc..? Would have been better:swoon:.

Ear of corn was my choice. Put the score of each game on a kernel. Both teams have gold as their secondary color, so making the trophy gold is perfect. And it still fits the sponsor perfectly. And it would have been unique, something like Paul Bunyon's Ax or the Jeweled Shillelagh (obviously not with that kind of tradition, but unique like those trophys, instead of the blah fest that we're getting).

Absolutely horrible. I don't know what the people were thinking when they chose that design. So many things they could have done and they chose that. They could have just had a trophy with the two men that the respective stadiums are named after, how much better would that have been? This has no relevance to the football game it was just a chance for whoever is sponsering the thing to push their agenda.

Wow, that's actually a great idea.

When they play next, whoever wins should just leave the trophy on the field and not even recognize it.

I second that.

First thing that came to my mind- although I'm not sure if I'd even want it just lying around in Jack Trice. Someone has to carry that piece of crap out of the stadium. How bout we throw it to the bottom of Lake Laverne?

Let's make this a contest, which fanbase can hate the trophy more. We will score by number of posts in this thread vs the number of post in the thread on HN. Ready, go!

haha, thats great! Yeah they should just pick it up run out of the stadium screaming NO GOD NO, NOOO, and throw it in the lake.

So farming has no historical significance to the state of Iowa and our respective universities?

Listen...I can understand why people don't like it, but it represents a good portion of our fanbase for both schools.

'Cause after a hard day at work I gather the Lady and my 2.5 average kids and we gaze at the corn as I hold it forth from my bushel basket...

I'm going to look at the silver lining, at least this will most likely be the inspiration for a very hilarious WRNL article
