Dear Cyclone Nation,
You are 12-29 in your last 4 seasons and have had 3 different head coaches. I realize your expecations may be high after a good start to the season but you must also realize that any recruit that commits to your program (especially a much needed Linebacker) is good news. You should also understand that every kid considering ISU reads this message board on a regular basis and probably doesn't appreciate seeing his talent picked apart by people that don't have a clue, especially when they have committed the next four years of their lives to the University. Stay calm, be happy, go Cyclones.

No. The front page story was just put up this morning with his name. The confidential story was only for us who subscribe and that was put out last night.
about 90% of those listed 40 times are inflamed bs... so maybe his time is legit... and besides, some guys are just good at running 40s while others have fast playing speed
And your offense was able to move the football? Or was this back in 1976?
I went to a 4A school in Davenport and our O-line was 215-285 across the board - and most of the time our O-line was outsized...
I had the same questions about the 40 time, especially seince the last guy with a horrid combine forty time (originally reported as 5.89) had a similar name--and we saw what happened with Hulbert. He was slow. I especially thought it was odd when the staff has repeatedly complained through the preseason about how slow the defense is getting to the ball, and wanting to get their own recruits on the field.
However, the "injured" answers that question. Moreover, I really trust our coaching staff's talent evaluation skills--look what happened with Young after he committed, and turned out to be a four star. By now the staff has had a chance not only to see tape of Hubert, but doubtless see him play in person, so I'm sure that they are happy with his speed--and we may be getting a steal simply because of that published time. And we definitely have a place for him. :biggrin:

It said on ESPN in the big 12 blogs that he ran a 4.9 electronic, not great but definately better.
ESPN has updated his profile. Cqualin Hubert - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN He's now our highest rated recruit according to them.
This guy has redshirt to D-end written all over him. I don't think 4.9 covers his speed. The ESPN deal talks a lot about his speed so I am assuming he is closer to 4.7. It doesn't matter to me though as long as he plays fast. Walace Franklin was fast but he could have just as well been slow evidently. Something in his interview with CSR was very interesting and I think we need to use it more. He was very turned on by the fact there are no pro sports so college football is where it's at in Iowa. I think we can use that very effectively on the recruiting trail.

Sounds like he could be a very good Mike-backer or WDE. Gotta love kids with a motor who like to hit people. You can always find a spot of the field for one of them.
I was surprised to see Tom Farniok so high. WOuld be great to see him step right in next year like they say he can since Reggie will graduate.
You are right, I misread that. But still surprised to see him rated that high. I need to have more patience, cause I think Rhoads will get the right players here, I just hope to GOD he gets some talented DLinemen here sooner than later.
