New Bracketology

Not many real UNI fans spiking the ball over a ****** bracketologist's opinion on December 20th. The league gives us 6 total shots at a Quad 2 win.

Going to take 16-2 plus Sunday in StL to get an at large and 16-2 is hard in any league when everybody knows each other.

Man, as a fellow real UNI fan and alum, I would love an 8 seed in Omaha, but Palm is a ginormous tool, and it's hard for to objectively that that with anything smaller than a huge grain of salt.

Dave at Bracketville has UNI as an 8 seed in Omaha also and he is the #1 ranked guy on bracket matrix. Lunardi I think is in the 50s and palm in the 30s as rankings

If you're wondering if UNI would be in the NCAA tournament as of today, December 26th, 2019, then you'd be correct. UNI is still going to have to win the conference outright with a solid record / win the conference tournament to get into the NCAA tournament. There is a ton of basketball to be played before either of those things happen. Getting engulfed with Bracketology at this point of the year is meaningless and will set you up to be disappointed if your team starts to dip below expectations.

This is especially true of mid major schools, as good a season as they've had so far, conference tourney is still the biggest factor in the MVC for determining a bid.

Here...is this better? They WILL be in the NCAA tournament. They still have a chance at an at large bid also. They go through the conference with 0 or 1 loss they should get an at large and be ranked in the top 20 if not top 15 in nation come the big dance

100% true. Last year I believe Belmont won the conference outright, yet lost in the tournament. They were in question to get an automatic bid before eventually letting them in.

So what you're proposing is UNI will end up being 29-2 or 30-1 and will end up getting a 4/5 seed in the NCAA tournament?

No. 29-2 or 30-1 but will still be no better than a 7 seed even though they are ranked top 20 in polls. MVC gets shafted with seeding each year
I wouldn't necessarily single out the MVC, rather all mid-majors don't get a ton of respect outside a few brand name schools. You can't expect the committee to give a team that plays maybe two tough teams in a conference the entire year a better seed than a team that plays in one of the P6 conferences.

We're still good for that guaranteed Sweet 16 charity bet, right?
