New Basketball offer

How come the last name is not Harris if this is Ronnie Harris son. It would be more believeable if it was. Normally children are named after the Father's last name. That is my experience living in Iowa.

Not if he is not married to her mother. The babies momma can name him either last name. At least that is what all those women did to me :no6xn:

[QUOTEWtf is war (whatever)? I keep reading that all over the place and it is driving me nuts. Is that one of those rome clones things?

It means nothing. It is a take on Auburns War Eagle. It's just a phrase a lot of people use to speak good of someone.

I think this is getting to be more and more common in today's world of lose morals and poor family values. If you remember, the great Chin Achebe had the same last name as his mother, Arcthanta Achebe, while his father, as we all know was the great James Charles.

Another fun coincidence between Chin and myself are that we both love to wear urban camo gear.

i personally dont like expending out scholarhips this early. you never know who is going to come out of the woodwork in 2009 that we wont have a scholarship for in 2010 because we gave them away 4 yrs earlier

If he's Ronnie Harris' son, that's good enough for me. He could have 1 leg and I wouldn't care. From what I've read he's a really good player even though he's like 15 years old. Athletic slasher with a nice 3 point shot.

...that got extremely popular to use after Rome completely wore it out on the air. My friends used to use it all the time, and I thought it was one of the dumbest things ever and refused t use it. Now I don't have to look back and think to myself, "wow, you sure were an idiot for using the word 'war' all the time..."

Barnes is a good player and a good kid, i went to a handful of games this year,he will prob be a sf.. he is very athletic, i havent had the chance to talk to him that much lately because i dont go to ames now. but i know he has potential

Does anyone else find it funny that everyone that has the "inside" information on this kid, no one here knows the family personally? It's all a friends' friend, or "my cousin"

His Dad is one of my all time favorite Cyclones. Go get him

I will never forget the game he played against Wayman Tisdale!

I will also never forget how he taught me rules of pick-up basketball in Beyer Hall when I was a freshman. I stepped up on D to take a charge (I know, I know...stupid!) and he didn't pull up. He planted his knee in my chest and dunked on me. I remember hearing "No charges in pick-up games white boy." as I lay gasping for breath on the floor...Pretty much never forgot that lesson.

That's generally the way it is with every single recruit ISU or any other school is looking at....rarely do posters on cyclonefanatic or any other Cyclone sight for that matter actually know the prospect personally besides maybe a couple convo's.

Look at it this way -- if he were Scandinavian, part of his name would be right. Harris' son = Harrison (even though it's traditionally 'last name'+'son'=new last name). :wink0st:

Magnus' son Sven = Sven Magnusson (truncated from Sven, Magnus' son)

DeAndre Jackson and Devin McDowell are brothers, yet no one made a stink about their last names.

All I can say is that I'm really excited about the future of Cyclone Basketball. It appears we might have the best players from the state and great players from around the nation. Very cool.

He is a really good player. I have seen him play with the All Iowa Attack team and I like what I see. He has long arms and is very athletic. Good pick up by MAC

I don't believe you for one reason; NCAA guidelines say that you can't contact high school freshman.

What do you mean by 'contact'?

Because I've talked to scouts before, an 8th grader we have here, Jason Bohannon's little brother Matt has talked to scouts before too.

I don't believe you can't contact them, just can't offer scholarships I think.
