I think the reason we did not win consistenly this past season was much more related to defense than offense.

But our teams in the past under Greg have played good defense, I have never seen a solid offense under Greg.

I for one would like to finds diamonds in the rough, not quite John Wall esque, but one that teams look over because of his size etc. ect.
Also would like a guy like Collins who is stacked and can play in your face fro 40 f'ing minutes not 38 like we do.

kg-I agree with the need for toughness, but it appears to me that GM values athleticism over toughness. It may be hard for a school like ISU to attract athletes with both attributes because there probably aren't enough to go around.

This is spot on. If I'm a decent assistant I am looking to get with a coach who is getting a fresh start somewhere not a coach who is likely to be fired in 1-2 yrs.

To me it doesnt seem like we will get a "great" assistant at this time with so much uncertianty around the program.

1000 jobs in the whole nations...There will be no problem filling this position. Mac constantly gets resumes for stuff like this.

I agree. Floyd used to say he could coach, he needed assistants that could recruit.

It has to be someone whose player relationships are solid enough to close that revolving door. We need somehow to retain players.
