Netflix: Daredevil

Watched the first two. Hall fight scene was good, but like any 1 on 10 fight scenes, it was definitely unrealistic. Very convenient that only 1 or 2 come at him at a time.

As for the show, it was really good. I think it is a good addition to the MCU.

10 bucks says the reason they choreographed it that way was so they could switch out the stunt double with the actor without a cut. Stunt double falls through the door. Main actor comes out. That way, he is there to end the scene.

Oh absolutely, but still awesome.

Watched the first episode earlier today and it was so much better than I expected. Was unsure about the guy who played Owen on Boardwalk Empire playing the lead but he seems perfect for it. Overall the cast is very good. Pumped to see where the rest of the season goes.

here's the fight scene that has people talking.

The continuous shot makes it. The Oldboy hammer fight comparison is spot on, but it's also like the extraction scene in a True Detective.

Just made it through episode 13.

It is not a show that did anything unique or different. The story beats are beats we've seen before, a hundred times. But every one of them is handled with so much care, so much precision, and so much excellence, it feels new. The show is extremely good in the first 8 episodes, but once you hit Shadows in the Mirror, it just elevates. Each episode steps up and delivers, one after the other, until the conclusion that is exactly what it needed to be.

I loved Daredevil, and cannot wait for AKA Jessica Jones.

Really good show, I really liked the long form storytelling and I'm really surprised they got Rosario Dawson for the cast. Honestly really good cast all the way.

I just finished this last night. My only complaint is that he didn't wear the suit more but other than that, it was great! I really hope they do another season.

No, the stink of the Affleck movie is too much for me to even give it a shot.

Your loss man cause this show is soooooo damn good. Some of the scenes are reminiscent of The Dark Knight and that is high praise from me. If I absolutely had to pick one favorite movie of all time, that would probably be it.

I'm not thrilled with the guy actor who was in The Mighty Ducks

What about him specifically do you see as the problem? I've liked him in pretty much everything I've seen him in. I read your post before I started the series and decided to wait until I had watched some episodes before asking in cased he clearly sucked it up big time. I'm six eps in and I think he plays his part well. Just curious to hear your perspective.

I'm not sure what to think about Fisk's character. To me he seems too awkward to be a crime boss, and I suppose I would rather seem him be more charismatic rather than withdrawn.

I felt the same way at first but after seeing him
beat the **** out of/behead that russian dude
I'm thinking it's to make more of an impact when he does flip ****. Also it shows him as a complicated human being rather than a heartless monster which seems more realistic.

Fisk was always a pretty withdrawn character in the comics. You rarely see him outside of his home/office tower.

Yeah he was always an interesting villain, not incredibly ruthless. He left that for his paid men. (although, the car door scene was um...interesting) I would love if they could tie in Spiderman to this story since they often had their issues with each other, but I doubt they will ever get any rights to do that.

....until "Born Again"......

So is this series loosely based off of that style of Daredevil? It seems awfully Millerish in tone.

Marvel has limited rights for Spiderman for MCU. He most likely will be in next Captain American movie and the next Spiderman reboot will be part of MCU, but Sony will retain creative rights. Also talk that he may be in Avengers in 2018.

I finished the series earlier this week - I was really impressed. I felt that it kind of lost a step in the last episode but it was still a great show.

My beef with Foggy wasn't with the character, it was the actor. And even then I didn't really dislike the performance, I just thought his character was the "weakest" out of the gate. I really grew to like Foggy as a character, especially when he had his chance to shine away from Matt Murdoch. It just seemed that his character of the "awkward guy" was coming from an actor that didn't really seem all that awkward in the scenes. His dialogue didn't really come off as genuine at least in the first two episodes. I know, that probably doesn't make sense and it involves waaay more over-thinking, but this is a Cyclone message board and there is plenty of over-thinking to go around. This was my turn.

All in all, great show, great casting, great season 1. I hope they renew it for Season 2 and I can't wait to see how things work out for the other MCU shows that Netflix is working on.
