Nebraska @ ISU

Watched the game again last night (MAN I CANT WAIT FOR FOOTBALL). How does everyone see this game going down? I think it will match at team that is worse than expected (NU) and a team that is better than expected (ISU). Watching the game, I could not believe how senior oriented that NU defense was last year, even some of the backups were seniors. To this point in the season I think we win a game we werent suppose to (TTU, TU, Iowa) and this is a huge game in Ames on Saturday night football. I really think ISU wins this game by 3-7 points and ARob runs wild. Biggest advantage for ISU is this game is in November and we know how hard it can be to win at Jack Trice in November with the winds from the NW.

I really think we win this game in Ames. The 12th man will be on steroids that day. Our offensive line will enable us to run the ball well; so, if this receiving corps shows up this year, we will beat Nebraska - and because of our depth at those positions, I think they will. Looking at last year's film, NU is going to believe this will be a walkover - but it won't be. ISU's offensive line will control the clock and give them a real quiet ride back to Lincoln.

Oh I'm sure it wasn't the highlight of your season, that's why your coach acted as if he just won the National Title afterward.

Go ahead, enjoy your victory this year, sulk in it even as you are. I know it's the only half-way decent thing that occured to the cyclones within recent years, we'll let you enjoy it.

Until next year of course, when we'll walk into Jack Trice and bend you over, as we do most years. Hopefully you guys can find some other sort of in-season victory to give you hope, ya know, when you're playing in another toilet bowl...like every other year in your programs...wonderful...history :)
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... oh my....

1. It was a landmark victory. First year head coach, his first game in lincoln, ISU's first win there in 32 years. Let us celebrate, because little did we know we would finish 7-6 with a bowl victory and that kNU would be maybe the 3rd most important win of the year!

2. I really hope all of the kNU fans and team share your mindset, cuz you boys are gonna get RAILED when you come into JTS. Deal with it. This is the same ISU you've come to know. CPR has this program on the rise.. fast. We'll be good.

3. YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!!!!

Umm...I'm sorry, what does my display name being Blue have to do with Nebraska being the Big Red? It's a display name. Am I hitting the field for Nebraska right now?

GOOD TRY THOUGH.

Lighten up, Francis. I put a wink in there, just giving you a hard time.

ISU was missing its starting QB and RB, and as a result was pretty content to run run run punt all day. FYI, when we played Texas A&M, who I think had a worse defense than we did, we opened the playbook with the same personnel and got killed. You guys helped us out a bunch by constantly giving us the ball back. On the whole both teams played pretty badly offensively - we were short players and you had a very good defensive unit anyway, and our defense kept stripping/picking the ball. I expect a much crisper game next season by both teams.

In general, the big red N doesn't carry the weight it used to. We've beat you guys a few times in Ames over the past few years (Since 2002, we're 2-2 against Nebraska in Ames), and last year we won in your house. No one is scared of Nebraska anymore. I respect you guys as a nationally known program with a defense that plays at a very high level. I know that if we beat you, there's a decent chance that we'll get some love on ESPN.

Most importantly, I don't think our team is scared to play yours. Our guys exorcised a bunch of demons last year, and part of that was winning in Lincoln. Part of it was winning a road game. Part of it was winning a road conference game. Part of it was our guys buying into the coaches and feeling like the new staff actually cared about them (he's proud to be their coach). For next year, I think that our guys have erased any mental edge that your teams have had in the past.

But, feel free to come to Ames and expect to walk all over us next year. I don't expect to change your mind anyway.

You're correct, turn-overs are a part of the game. And on that day in particular, you won. Fair and square.

That doesn't change the fact that the amount of turnovers (and their placement) in that game is something that won't ever happen in a game....ever again. You ISU fans can play ignorant and just assume that we're going to fumble the ball 5 times within striking distance, if it helps you sleep at night.

The reality of the matter is, we were a better team last year that couldn't capitilize, and we're sure as hell a better team this year. But don't mind me, we'll let it all get settled on the field eh.
There is maybe one guy on Nebraska's whole offense that would start for ISU, just a little food for thought. Roy Halu is one of the most overrated RBs in the Big 12 and as for Zac Lee, the worst QB in the Big 12, if those two dont improve, ya good luck to ya!

Hahahahahaha. This thread is hilarious.

You beat the Huskers in 1 game (Due to a game in which an incredibly large number of fumbles occured in area's that were very conveinant for ISU, the odds of that happening again are...small)

Nebraska was a better team by 30 points last year, and ****** the game down their own leg. That was one of the FEW true examples in football of a team beating themselves.

Should Nebraska have less then 10 turnovers this year, they'll win by 30+. That's just the sad reality. But I guess it's nice to see all the sunshine pumping.

Oh, EXTRA lol at the guy who tried to proclaim that ISU would make Nebraska it's *****. Post that anywhere beside a clone board, I'm sure everyone else would like a chuckle as well.

You would have said the same thing last year!

Hey Blue, INTs are INTs, how bad is Zac Lee, did you see some of this throws last year? Tiller threw better as a RS Freshman than Zac Lee ever did. SUCKS!

Don't you read the Nebraska press? A defense that loses the best player in the country, loses 3 other starters, and was ranked 3rd in the nation in total defense is going to get better! And an offense that couldn't do anything last year returns all of it's starters! Huskers = National Champions!
Hey blue, the Nebraska Kool-Aid newspaper proclaimed the above. Also how cool do you have to be to come to another teams message boards and flame all over it?

no one is going to like this opinion but i think we get slaughtered. 8 turnovers is not going to happen again. if we only got 7 turnovers i think we would have lost that game which is kind of sad.

nebraska had a TERRIBLE offense last year and they were still able to move the ball easily on us (that is until they would drop the ball).

their defense is probably going to take a step back from last year, but i think ours does too.

we won last year, but nebraska had a far better team than what we did. this showed especially towards the end of the season.

by that you are still including arnaud, a-rob, james smith, laamack, and other players out with H1N1?

Exactly. Blue wonders why CPR was so excited? Its not just that they beat nebraska in lincoln for the first time in forever. Its that they overcame an extreme amount of adversity, and came together as a team and won that game. Was it pretty? No. But with that many issues with sickness and injury, we should have lost that game by 30, and yet we won.

Honestly, that's true. Niles Paul. That's it.

James Smith played, and got ejected. I never heard H1.

I would realistically imagine a Nebraska 7-10 pt win. That being said, it's not like an ISU win at the Jack hasn't happened lately. I think we can all agree 8 turnovers is almost definitely not going to happen again, so we're going to need to run for more than a 3 yard average every single play while holding Nebraska under 20.

Judging from his attitude yup blue sounds like a typical nebraska/iowa fan

Exactly---75 to 80 percent of those fans will beat another team down verbally and tell you their shared, perceived virtues of their team, even if you don't act interested, or their comments are unwelcomed. If you talk to one you have talked to them all.

wow, i wasnt going to get involved in this thread because blue was making an *** out of himself but give a me a break! i realize that you saw 2 games that nebraska played in last season.....but im not sure that gives you proper perspective to make that statement. nebraska returns 10 starters on offense this season so i guess we will see how many of them would start for isu.

oh and that is also the game that NU had an outbreak of h1n1, so thats not exactly a great excuse. helu had that as well as a bum shoulder and the majority of the receivers including paul had h1n1 as well. add to that rex burkhead was out with injury, you wont get that lucky next season.

good debate by the way!

The defense won't miss a beat next year. Count on it. If there is one thing Pelini is known for nationwide it is developing and coaching outstanding defensive teams. Stewart Mandel hit it on the head:

Alabama could win SEC, repeat as BCS champion; more Mailbag - Stewart Mandel - SI.com

And the defense was far from "senior dominated" as an earlier poster pointed out. I give you guys all the credit in the world for the win in Lincoln last year. And I expect you guys to have a good, solid team this year as well, but some of these comments regarding this year's upcoming game are ridiculous.

Name 2 guys that would start for ISU on offense as for defense there may be 5-6.

10 starters that would start where in Big 12 aside from Nebraska? Dude nobody wants that offense!
