NCAA changes charge rule again?

Okay so what happened on June 25th? Did they approve this rule change, or was that a typo and supposed to be July 25th?

Also if you are on a committee like this isn't personal preference supposed to be out the window? Shouldn't you do what is best for the game? I am thinking the Belmont coach doesn't deserve his position on this committee. Also if you don't have enough data to review the rule change, give it a couple years let people adjust to it completely and see if it is working or not. It was an adjustment for coaches, players and refs. God forbid it take more than one year for everyone to figure it out.

I don't either. When you have a clear path to the basket and you leave your feet for a layout, a defender shouldn't be allowed to slide under you while you are airborne. I don't understand the purpose for the rule change.
Coach K is pleased.

Agree. Why go back to the old way that 1) rewards a player for a non-athletic movement, 2) is potentially dangerous anyway? Just silly.

I do agree with them bringing the no charge zone out further. you get a good mismatch and get the basket waived off because a guy 6 inches shorter falls over..
