NBA Top Shot

Around 1970, when I first heard a Des Moines radio station play them, I have been trying to market them; sounds like the time is right, right now! Who wants the first copy of "Silent Movie Soundtracks?"

I’m so confused. Why would anyone spend money on a digital screen .gif that’s completely useless?

Congrats! I was able to flip the 3 cards in my $14 pack for $247. Ben Simmons was my "Seeing Stars" card.

So are you actually able to cash that out then? Someone said it takes 30 days and there's a limit for how much you can withdraw at a time.

Haven't tried yet, but I've read those complaints too. Their system is still very clunky.

They are still in beta. It has really improved. There used to be login issues when more than 40k people tried to sign in.

You are sitting on a nice one with that Zion card, assuming it was from the seeing stars set.

Do you have any feel on if the challenge will drive the prices of those cards up, or do so few people actually try to complete the challenges that it doesn't really impact the pricing?

It's still really hard to speculate on what will drive the prices up right now. I think the more buzz and people that sign up, the prices will rise. I think there will be a point where the prices are too high for normal people to trade, but who knows when that will happen.

Guy I work with came from music industry and worked with a company that tried to do this for pop and hip hop songs. Like a stock cert but you don't actually own song rights. I think it bombed already but I have some certificates somewhere.

This thing is super frustrating. The marketplace has been disabled most of the day. I just noticed that you need a moment in your collection to try to get into the pack drop at 4. I've tried to get moments today, even before they disabled the marketplace but there was an error on Dapper's end.

The "Seeing Stars" set has bounced back this morning. It was trending lower for 2 days, and now they are going back to the point of what people were selling them for right after the pack drops.

Does anyone have any 3rd party websites that tracks the moments pricing trends? Top Shot only appears to give you the Top 3 sales and then the most recent 12. Dapp Radar gives a little insight as it tracks users, volume, and transactions of various dapps.

Question for anyone who understands NFTs better than me: when you buy an NFT from NBA Top Shot, do you own exclusive rights to the digital content you purchased? Can the NBA still use that content through other avenues like posting that clip on their Youtube page or showing it during one of their broadcasts?

I’ll sell you guys a gif for $20.

There is a Haliburton dunk against the Raptors for $85. The fandom in me wants that one. Plus Matt Thomas is in the background. The way Haliburton hypes it, I feel like it may be a deal.

Edit: It's gone already, now the cheapest one is $124. Should have pulled the trigger.

This dunk? I get how having an "archive" could help organize in one place, but in what sense is it owned? I saw they are "serially marked" but if they are digital they are replicatable.

Is it really there for the NFT "authentication" of a blockchain transaction, etc? That makes more sense as a "value proposition"...but in that case why do you want to have this or that 'clip' to authenticate vs any random clip?

Clearly I need to do more to understand on my part so feel free to ignore! But here is a (the?) cool dunk for everyone. I will make up a hash so it is like a blockchain donation...

Anyone still looking at Top Shot? Monte and Georges both have moments now. Monte's is a very sweet hesitation move.
