Actually kinda excited for the playoffs this year. Lots of storylines. Will the Heat win back-to-back? Can the Lakers win despite no Kobe? Can the Thunder make it back to the finals? Is this the Spurs last hurrah? Can the Celtics rally around the tragedies to upset the Knicks?

I'm rooting for the Thunder, but with no Kobe and the mess all year, I would think it kind of fun if the Lakers and their coach who looks just like Cliff Clavin actually did something.

Im thinking we see Thunder vs Heat again.

I really wish the Rockets would have won last night. A win for them puts them at 7, and I think they have just as good a shot as any to make it to the conference finals. Unfortunately, they run into the buzzsaw round 1 now.

Wouldnt be surprised to see the Lakers beat the Spurs in 7, Knicks will beat the Celtics handily..

West:
Thunder vs LAC
Denver vs LAL

Thunder vs Denver

East:
Miami vs Brooklyn
NY vs Indiana (This will be a great series, best besides the Finals, maybe better)

Miami vs NY

Miami vs OKC

I think we see a re-match. Miami win in 6.

The question isn't if the Heat make the finals, it's how many games will it take them to do so?

On the other side, there are some great matchups. Harden vs his old OKC team. Rematch of last years 7 game series between the Clips & Griz. Warriors vs Denver in a first team to 150 points wins matchup. I think the Lakers vs Spurs is the least interesting matchup of the bunch which is saying something.

I think we need to use quotes with any talk of the Knicks being "upset". It's the Knicks.

I see it being pretty chalky.

East:
Heat in 4
Knicks in 7
Pacers in 6
Nets in 7

Heat over Nets in 5
Knicks over Pacers in 6

Heat over Knicks in 6

West:
Thunder in 4
Spurs in 5
Denver in 5
Clippers in 7

Thunder over Clippers in 7
Spurs over Denver in 7

Thunder over Spurs in 7

Finals:
Miami over Thunder in 7

It sure looks like a Finals rematch, which is ok by me. If the Pacers can advance to the conference finals they could give Miami a run just because they match up with the Heat better than anyone else in the league, plus with the hate between those two teams that would be a throughly entertaining six or seven game series.

I will not watch a single second of the Pacers & Nets first round series. What a **** show the East is.

I'm sure the Pacers-Hawks series will get most of their games sent to NBATV, it's a yearly tradition for Atlanta.

I still think the Knicks or the Pacers can cause some trouble for the Heat in the Conference Finals...

It's certainly possible for the Knicks if they're hitting their threes and Miami isn't. Don't really think Indiana can though because as good as their defense is, they just aren't good enough offensively.

1st Round series in order of "watchibility"

Warriors vs Nuggets (should be fun, very fast paced) also Steph Curry
Grizz vs Clippers (rematch)
Thunder vs Rockets (Rockets are a very good 8 seed, plus the whole Harden deal)
Celtics vs Knicks (history, rah rah)
Nets vs Bulls (should be a good back and forth series)
Spurs vs Lakers (meh)
Heat vs Bucks (just to watch the Heat)
Pacers vs Hawks (no thanks)

So needless to say, i prefer the Western conf, but I am looking forward to this years playoffs, as I have followed the NBA pretty close the past couple years.

Miami/Milwaukee is the only Eastern series that shouldn't be competitive...maybe I could see the Pacers stomping Atlanta.

People are sleeping on Boston and Chicago, those are toss up series where the lower seeded teams are more seasoned and the higher seeded teams aren't as well coached. I don't think either would get past the second round, but it shouldn't be a shock if either beats a couple of perennial underachievers who finally had decent regular seasons after years of suck.

I think the Bulls with Noah would matchup pretty competitively with Miami. Noah plays Bosh well, Luol stops lebron as well as anyone can and Butler has given Dwayne Wade a hard time.

I was kind of hoping the Pacers would have Granger back by now. Even though he is a volume scorer, I still like him way more than Stephenson. Oh well, just puts a lot of pressure on Paul George.
