name that song

I decided to check out Big Star after reading about how Paul Westerberg idolized Chilton. The only Mats album I have is "Tim", but I was aware of the song's existence although I've never really heard it.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Pleased to Meet Me and Let it Be. Excellent albums. Pleased is one of my all time favorites.

"If I swallow anything evil, put your finger down my throat." (Also known as some of the weirdest lyrics ever to appear in a great song.)

They are on Palladia right now. I love that channel.

Madman drummers bummers,
Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground

This is the "bridge" in a song:

Why dont we listen to
The voices in our hearts
cause then I know wed find
Were not so far apart
Everybodys got to be happy
Everyone should sing
For we know the joy of life
The peace that love can bring

I love college, hey, i love drinking, hey, i love women, hey, i love college.

Chug,
Chug,
Chug,
Chug,
Chug,
Freshman,
Freshman,
Freshman,
Freshman,
Freshman,
Do some thing crazy,
Do some thing crazy,
Do some thing crazy,
Do some thing crazy,
Kegstand,
Kegstand,
Kegstand,
Kegstand,

OK, since no one's getting this one, I'll give you some more lyrics. This is the second verse:

He had a cloak of gold and eyes of fire
And as he spoke I felt a deep desire
to free the world of its fear and pain
And help the people to feel free again.

Madman drummers bummers,
Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground

blinded by the light-manfred mann
