If they learn then yes it is just a mistake. If he were to continue to do it then yes that is a big problem. This obviously isn't something he can just totally blow off, but it shouldn't really affect his basketball. Some people don't...some people do. If they do is it still just a mistake?
sigh....
no, it it is not ok to drink and drive, or kill people.
As someone who is dating a girl who's dad was hit and killed by a drunk driver, I have no respect for these criminals at all. I really hope he cleans up his act. Just disgraceful. There needs to be bigger punishments imo.
yay we agree on something!
Are there tests you can administer on your own to discern alcohol level?
I think there should be a scale of punishments. A guy on the road blowing a .09 and a guy blowing a .25 are not equal. A friend of mine got one blowing a .09. He had had two beers at the time within about a half hour or so. He wasn't anything close to what I would consider dangerous. I understand your POV but everyone who has gotten an OWI wasn't a death waiting to happen.
I've always thought that if bars has breathalizers in them, you would cut down on drinking and driving. It would add a certain amount of reality to some people.
If I had those in bars while in college, I would've turn into a competition to see who could blow the highest.I've always thought that if bars has breathalizers in them, you would cut down on drinking and driving. It would add a certain amount of reality to some people.

Absolutely everyone is different. Which is why i hate the across-the-board .08 litmus test.
If you feel the need to administer a test on yourself, don't drive. Are there tests you can administer on your own to discern alcohol level?
Nope, just sick and tired of seeing these troublemakers getting off for good behavior on vehicular homicide after only serving a a year or two in jail when they know full well their actions and negligence cost someone else's life. If you think that is ok because they just made a silly mistake resulting in someone being killed....but don't worry it was just a silly mistake!!!! Everyone does it!!! they're positive people!!! they didn't mean to kill that person!!! That argument is pathetic and full of BS. Good thing you aren't the judge or jury or people would probably never be charged with these types of crimes.
I been out several times, but know better not to drive after drinking. Case in point last week I spent more than I should of at paddys, mickeys, ajs, etc. I also used a DD or a taxi these nights.
Nothing against Nader btw....just hope he takes this life lesson seriously and learns from it and never does it again. That night could of ended completely differently. I expect him and Hoiberg to work on things and turn him into grown man.
Not sure I agree. Have to have a cutoff. I know it may sound extreme, but science would say that your friend at .09 would have delayed reaction....it may be very slight, but if that slight delay kills someone, it matters.
I guess I'd be on with a VERY harsh punishment if it's anything above .2 (like a ban on having a license) because that is clearly not being smart.
Off subject, but don't get me started on distracted driving. That is scary to me.
