Nader arrested for OWI?

I don't think it's time to freak out. This shouldn't correlate at all to the riot as far as I can see.

2 games or so seems appropriate

An OWI is an OWI but I fear that with the backdrop of everything that happened this week if punishments might be more severe. You have to think the ISU brass is tired of seeing their college in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

I just don't see how they can make this into anything more than it is. It's not a riot where some one was seriously injured.

It's the kid's first problem that I'm aware of.

I highly doubt he gets kicked off, but now he HAS to keep on the up-and-up. Any little slip up and he's gone, and we can assume now that he isn't the greatest at making smart decisions: drunk driving is bad any time but during VEISHEA with all the extra police scrutiny that it brings (and even more so now with the riot and cancellations) is just plain stupid.

I predict a 5 game suspension, and then coming of the bench for 5 more games.

I predict an "indefinite" suspension, which will be lifted after the opening practice. When Brady Morningstar got a DUI at Kansas, he was suspended for 1st semester, which amounted to about 9 games. I would be surprised if Hoiberg drops the hammer that hard.

Wtf does Brady Morningstar have to do with it?

He's the only guy in the history of Kansas basketball to get punished for doing something wrong, So layoff twocoach, he doesn't understand that these sort of things don't normally get swept under the rug.

One could argue that this is worse than what Irving did. Nader put everyone at risk that he encountered on the street while driving drunk. Luckily for him, nothing happened though.

If it's his first stupid thing he's done while at NIU and ISU, then I see a 2 or 3 game suspension. Unless Leath steps in of course, and then all bets are off at this point.

Nader was taking BDJ around this weekend too. Not good.

The reality is that drunk driving is worse than pulling out a street sign but there are some added factors that made Irving's case much worse than face value.

1. It was during a riot stemming from a campus sponsored festival.

2. It wasn't his first legal issue.

3. Someone was hurt during the event.

Nader taking him around, that is a huge side bar to this incident. That is bad, really bad. That could have really hurt BDJ ISU/Ames experience this weekend. Gosh, can't these athletes get a ride?

It is much worse than what Irving got booted for.

Let's not kid ourselves, Irving got booted due to embarrassment.

So Nader was showing BDJ around after Hickory Park and they had some drinks being older students. So what happened to BDJ last night?

Someone mentioned in a different thread that Nader was with BDJ last night. Hopefully BDJ wasn't with him and this doesn't change his opinion of ISU and his visit.
