So the last couple days when ever i have landed on MTV i have noticed that the voices or sounds do not match up with the people off by a good 2 or 3 seconds, i find this highly annoying, wondering if anyone else has noticed this

Haven't noticed that and don't watch MTV.

But I got the new whole house DVR system about a month ago and have noticed - particularly on the HD channels, that he show sorta skips or jumps often. Not consistenly, so I'm not sure if it's a channel issue, or a DVR/receiver issue.

Also seem to be getting alot of digital distortion and block-lock. Watched Band of Brother on AMC this weekend (HD) and it was freezing up left and right.

Yep, I've noticed it, too, Makes it really easy to change the channel.

Due to having testicles I have been unable to watch MTV since MTV Sports with my boy, Dan Cortese.

I'd have to say the last time I willingly changed the channel to MTV Mallory (former ISU soccer player) was in the Real World - and as much as I tried I couldn't even make it through that season as every episode insulted my intelligence even further...

My in-laws have Mediacom and they have audio/video sync problems as well as picture freezing problems. In addition, even the HD channels just don't look that great.

Unfortunately, I think "that's just Mediacom" applies here. I know it's a cliche to bang on the big bad monopoly, but Mediacom truly is a terrible company in every sense of the word.

The issue has to do with if you run the audio through your tv to be heard on the internal speakers verus using a receiver and external speakers. The .25 to .5 sec delay is a result of the time it takes for the audio to be processed etc.

Short short is the more items you have between the video source and the audio will result in the syncing issue.

We had a bunch of the same issues listed in here...we called them, brought them to the house and they fixed it and that was it. The skipping of the picture was actually a problem with our tv. Something with the power output i believe

Don't think that's the problem with my TV-- it's connected directly to the cable. Plus, it's been like this only for a few days.
