MrBeast Burger

There are certain foods I chose not to revisit sober as I don't want to ruin my view of them. Like movies you saw as a kid that you should probably avoid as an adult. Just let the memory be.

You’re telling me Space Jam isn’t a cinematic masterpiece?

Funny, that's been on TV a lot and I've watched in a couple times in the last week (work from home is boring). No that one holds up well! Actually I may take my view back, most movies do hold up and bring good nostalgia feels. I've seen the Sandlot like 100 times now.

Red Robin in crapids

I think Perkins on the SW side of CR does it too...or at least it pops up that way when me and my kids have checked. Never ordered one in CR but we did in Milwaukee at a hotel and in Springfield, IL. Both times my kids really liked it (as did I). Burgers were much thicker than Wendy's, fries were very good (thick) as well. My kids liked the grilled cheese as well (they make it by inverting hamburger buns as the bread...my kids enjoy it this way at home now as well). I will admit that the food is a bit pricey but I both times my family has enjoyed the experience and were ready to try it again.

Mr Beast is a fascinating guy. I hope all the stories about him being philanthropic are true...but part of me is just waiting to hear about a big scandal that revolves around him (hope not though)!

I think having adult money plays a factor here too. I used to walk golf courses too but now **** that ****. If I have 5 hours away I’m sure as **** not walking.

I enjoy walking unless it’s a million degrees out.

Aren't they supposed to be smashburgers? Sounds like they made them wrong.

The reviews that I have read have been brutal. I looked at the menu and it looks like a high school kid with no food experience came up with it. Let's see how many ways we can combine ketchup, mustard, onions, lettuce, and pickles, and we'll use the same bun for everything including the grilled cheese.

Speaking of Smashburger, is that franchise still alive?

I'm so sad to see the franchise go down, much like Quiznos. They both bring so much to the fast casual space in terms of differentiating from their competitors. I think the Smashburger on 86th and University is still going, at least I hope so. Would love to get me a burger, smash fries, and a shake.

edit: like @baller21 said, on 22nd. Didn't realize 86th street changes over right there.

This concept is proof that people are suckers for marketing. Save yourself the trouble and just order from Perkins...or even better yet, those Hy-Vee gas station burgers in the warmer are only $6.00. I'd put those up against against any burger out there, especially for the money.

I didn't even realize they were in Des Moines, only been to ones in Minneapolis.

I’ve never tried the HyVee burger so I can’t compare the taste but $6 for a gas station burger? I can get a double steak burger fries and a drink for that price at steak and shake.

Now that you say that...agree...but they weren't huge...and a different style than Wendy's which I suppose is why maybe I feel they were thicker? Or maybe we had two patties? Guess I will need to order them again to test it out! I mean...hard for me to turn down bacon, cheese, beef and french fries in between the hamburger buns!

I agree with this premise...BUT...in CR Red Robins food is somehow different than the Mtr Beast stuff I have tried. Not sure how...maybe the buns/bread is different?

Yeah just because they’re cooked in the same kitchen doesn’t mean they are the same ingredients.
