Most Entertaining People on Campus

Definately the lair type re-enactment that was seen on the library webcam this spring. That was classic.

last year i always got a good laugh out of this kid who held up a "free Hugs" sign... he was also in one of my classes and he came dressed as a cat to class one time.... it was september. also he rode around on a blue razor scooter! totally rad

I saw a guy walking completely naked down the street where Science and Physics hall are. It was about 3 in the afternoon on a warm, fall day in 2007. The thing I thought was funny about that is that nobody seemed to think it was a big deal! Other people were just going about their own business until finally I bumped into another guy that like me, couldn't believe what he was seeing. I think the naked guy eventually was arrested.

Is the boom-box guy still around? Every night around 8 he'd walk up and down Welch Ave all night blasting AC/DC Live! In my 5 years there, he never changed the CD! That, and the running man, a 5'0 tall kid with an 90 lbs backpack on running every around town!!

When were you in school? There was a kid that lived on my floor in Helser in the 01-02 timeframe that would fit the description of the running man.

Seeing Johnny Orr pick up Justice Thigpen and give him a ride to class in Johnny's POS Oldsmobile, on the sidewalk, people scrambling to get out of Orr's way. classic.

I definitely know that kid; he was a freshman last year. I see him ALL the time; pretty sure he's a music minor. He carries that razor with him everywhere, including into class.

When the first good snow fall of the winter hits there are usually a few nut jobs out in the courtyards making snow sculptures of male and female body parts (trying to keep it clean here.) Then after said things are made some other goof balls come out and start doing things to them such as some crazy girls doing certain acts to the male body part. Used to watch all this from my Towers window which made for some interesting entertainment sometimes.

Or back in the Towers days when you got a nice spring day and some girls would be laying out in the sun while some idiot on the 9th floor would be yelling "take your top off!" over and over. Ocassionally they'd get a show though...

I was in a meteorology class about to take a either a final or midterm. It was the middle of winter and we had at least 4 inches of snow on the ground. So the facilitator of the test (not the professor) was literally about to say we could start and wham a door opens to the right. This individual was dressed in an all black trench coat and a Richard Nixon mask.

At this point I'm sure many in the lecture hall weren't sure what to think, and others were more than likely thinking the worst (school shooting).

All of a sudden this guy that walks in opens his trench coat and gives us all a preview of "The Goods." He also says something while he's shuffling across the front of the hall but I can't remember exactly what he said.

Clearly at this point we're all in shock and dying of laughter.

Meanwhile, the guy runs out the other door on the other side of the room. The test facilitator then runs after the guy. Keep in mind we have a lot of snow on the ground.

About 5 minutes later the facilitator returns with the Richard Nixon mask in hand. He then informs us the guy got away but not after he slipped and fell in the snow virtually naked.

Easily the funniest experience in my tenure at ISU.

Two things come to mind:

1) ROTC guys practicing their rappelling; best I ever witnessed was a couple who departed Lamson House (Wilson - Towers) at about 2am after a night at the bars.

2) When all four towers were intact, the middle ground was a wind tunnel in the winter / spring. It was entertaining to watch the smaller girls try to fight their way to the Knapp / Storms connector doors only to get blown back..

I had someone that I met with regularly (not even going to consider mentioning the position), but she had gorgeous legs. Ah, those days in her office made for some happy memories...

As far as "entertaining people", does anyone else remember the Iowa Sweet Corn poster of the Early Eighties? I swear that girl (or, her poster) was in every dorm room...

People tripping whether it's icy or not is always funny. I also liked getting drunk at my friends house and yelling at those kids who ride the tall bikes because they would never show us how to get on them...

The ocassional show would make it worth it if you were walking by. But from the 9th floor  you'd need some super binocks to see that. :jimlad:
