More 2012 predictions

I can't complain about a 5-7 prediction. We'll need an upset or two (which I think we'll get) to do better than that. The big thing is no more games like Utah or any others where we are embarrassed and don't belong on the field.

That's the funny thing, though. If this team establishes itself as a strength in the first four or five games, than at that stage any other wins won't necessarily be "upsets".

The same works as vice versa if an opponent or two (koffTexaskoff) happens to have a down season. The problem with perspective is, everyone expects no other team to be "down", and yet one or another usually is.

TCU is not as bad as they were in the MWC. We got Kansas States number. Kansas is rebuilding with Crist and Weiz. Iowa has a small amount of returning players. Our numbers are not bad.

I still maintain that Texas didn't have a down season until we started their downfall. They're welcome.

I keep telling myself 4 wins... If we get more I'll be happy. I like guessing low... If I had to choose 4 W's I'd say Tulsa, W Illinois, Baylor, Kansas... I have a feeling the Iowa game will be close but they will squeak by this year... Getting Texas Tech earlier in the year is bad, as they won't have as many injuries; I know we whooped them the last two years but I think they come ready to play this year... We lose another heartbreaker to KState, and finish out the year with a tough battle against WVU. I'll be so happy if I'm wrong :smile:

I'm certainly not as optimistic as some of you. I really wish I could say I think 6-7 wins but really I'm thinking 5-6. Obviously I really, really hope we get to that 6th win. I have a feeling the UWV game will have a bowl game on the line. UWV is going to be a really good team this year and it's going to be tough. I just really wish we had 3 non conference home games. That would be totally sweet.
