Lol exactly. Didn't a bball player get suspended toward the end of the year a few years ago, when they were pretty good, because he was sleeping with another student?

A lot. It shows It can be done. Frankly #44 is only a little bit better than #59 and when you count 30 signees, it is okay. It's is the best we've had according to scout since hey started their rankings in 2001. What kind of relevance does Bruce having the #2 class even have any longer?
I've heard he was homesick. A failed drug test, assuming it's pot, is nothing to leave over. It's one game at most.
Yeah, but what if CPR left us a marijuana team? While not a "P5" program, BYU is usually pretty solid. Pretty sure they have a no tolerance policy for marijuana since they have one for alcohol. Doesnt seem to be suicide for them.
I don't want anyone to leave but color me idgaf if we lose some guys during this coaching change. The guys you mention aren't crucial to building a base like the the three I mentioned are. those are the 3 guys I have identified that will be the biggest part of what Campbell can do going forward that is left over from CPR.
The guys you mentioned I put in the "Good for ISU but not really that good in the overall scheme of things" or "production/impact on the team could be replaced fairly easily" categories.
Yes Andrew Smith is just some dude and Jake Rhoads is the son of our former coach so his outlook on the situation is probably going to be a bit more dark than the average player, but as i posted earlier in the thread I've heard from a source very close to the program that more than a few players ,in some degree or another, share this sentiment of Andrew Smiths tweet.
Since he met individually with EACH player when he arrived and explained to them how important it was to have seniors and juniors as leaders. Went through and showed them how teams with new coaching staffs can be successful if the veteran players buy in to what's being asked of them. Wanted to know what the players like that should be kept.
Also laid out a strict academic protocol and made it very clear what they have to do to be part of the team, with regards to school.
Oh yeah, he WANTS them to hang out in the football facility; couches, tvs, food, etc. (CPR wasn't a fan of those things happening)
Sounds like he's not family oriented...

I suspect you are thinking beyond 2016, but a good 2016 maintains the momentum, so Tucker is absolutely critical. Excluding him in that category is crazy.
i agree if guys are not buying in then I hope they leave. But from a talent standpoint I think people are not being realistic about this recruiting class. Outside of Catalina, if he ends up here, there isn't a DL or OL prospect ready to play and upgrade those position groups probably until 2017 at the earliest. It's still a recruiting class that is very good by ISU standards. Just like KCM, Campos, Jh. Thomas and others are very talented players by ISU standards.
Not sure how I feel about this. I'm pro marijuana, and think it should be legal, but I understand it's currently not. Also not sure how this will effect recruiting. I can't imagine there's too many schools that have a zero tolerance rule.
Kind of reminds me of the movie Remember the Titans. White kids told the coach the white kids that would play and he could do what he wanted with the other positions. I think the coach (Denzel Washington) called them Dean and Jerry. (Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis)Whatever people say, I wonder if guys simply saw the handwriting on the wall . . . namely that they were going to have to compete with guys and were likely to drop on the depth chart. If they came here to play, but not compete for their positions, then they probably aren't the right guys for competing in the games.
I feel like I let you guys down... I was just going to start a thread before this came out.
Heard through come people close to football players that about 20ish players have left or are leaving the program. TWENTY. Reasons why: Campbell to business like and staff about winning, not family oriented like CPR, coaches spending time on young guys and new recruits has been taken wrong way by older players, etc.
I fear these two are the first of many....
You are absolutely wrong. As good as this class is, those guys won't be ready for 2 years.
I'm not exclusively talking about incoming freshman or "Campbell guys". There's still other guys that didn't start last year or redshirted last year that are on the team. We're very much at the "next man in" level and there isn't some huge talent gap in our 2 deep from 1's to 2 and 2's to 3's or even from 1's to 3's because we don't really have that much talent anywhere.
So we had 30 signed, then 100 on schollies, lose twenty on schollies, and now need five more? Need a WRNL update.Guys the recruiting season ain't over yet..there will be other still possibly brought in after spring and grad transfers looked at too.
Yeah, until someone gets injured. You need to have 60 playable guys. At least 20 freshmen won't be. There will be another 20 that aren't for whatever reason. Now, if you start losing a bunch of guys who have played and played at a pretty decent level, not to mention they are pretty young, it will hurt. In basketball you can replace them much easier. In football, at ISU, replacing a large number of guys like the Harvey's Mills, Northrups of the team is a two year process at a minimum. Sure, you can find JUCO guys at times but not all over. Is it huge that we lost these two? No, not really at all. We have a lot of WRs that can play and RBs are by far the easiest guys to replace quickly, but you start losing defensive guys or linemen in large numbers and it's going to hurt. Our OL right now is in really tough shape because we are losing guys there. We've lost two and will possibly lose more and tthey are guys that would at least provide depth that doesn't cripple us.
No wins is rock bottom.I can't disagree with you that it would "hurt", but my point is how much does it really "hurt" winning 4 games vs. winning 3 games with a bunch of guys that aren't on board? Like I always said during my "Rhoads out" phase; people just refuse to hit rock bottom or acknowledge that we were at rock bottom. Now we can move forward and moving forward means clearing out deadwood and losing guys that don't want to move forward here. It's not worth it to chance guys that just stick because we want them to stick and 2 games in they're done because they don't want to be there. Moving forward might not look great for awhile but at least we aren't stuck in the spin cycle any longer.
