Monte's shoulder

What happened? I could only listen on cyclones.tv and it sounded like he got the defender to jump, ducked under, and the defender hit/landed on his shoulder on the way down? After the FT, Walters mentioned Vic Miller was checking Monte out.

How serious is that? HGH?
Depends on the grade of the strain. I'm assuming its a Grade I strain, which is why he was able to shoot and make the 3 free throws and stay in the game. Also why they are saying he will likely play Thursday. Rest, ice, anti-inflammatory meds, and some PT exercises and he'll be ok. 100%? no, but good enough to play. The long break will be nice.

Monte has been battling his knee and hip injury the last few weeks too.

Well he had a good run, probably got to put him down now.

I want to panic. But I am restrained from doing so because nobody else is panicking. Must not be serious, I can only conclude.

A strain is a tear of the muscle fiber, a sprain is a tear of a ligament. A strain generally is more severe depending on the grade. This isn't something that Monte is going to work through this first game of the Big 12 Tournament and be OK after that. One has got to wonder if a hampered Monte Morris is better to play than not to play? The question you should ask is by playing with this injury what is the liklihood of it becoming worse each game he plays? I have been really pleased by the way Hallice Cooke has destributed the ball and generally overall play. What if Hallice assumes Point Guard duty?

A strain may be a simple stretching of the muscle or tendon. It does not need to be a tear. Don't spread misinformation.

It happened late in the game and the interviews were right after the game. We'll probably know a lot more on Monday.
