MONDAY MUSINGS: It's hard to be optimistic anymore

I'm talking about the power ranking in the article, the article this entire 5 page thread is based on. Is this not the place to discuss the power ranking within the aforementioned article?

Yeah, we're all discussing the power ranking in this thread. No one cares about your ranking butthurt here.

I don't understand why anyone thinks this drastic change in offense would do any good..... Just don't get it......

I guess to see it for entertainment purposes...but Lanning won't save us, schemes won't save us. We need new leadership.

It's amazing how many people think Pollard is oblivious to what would happen if he kept CPR next year.

I suspect most people understand he is aware of the situation but rather also believe he will be unwilling to make the change.

I think he's waiting till end of season to fire cpr. What ticks a lot of us off is that he's not doing it now. I mean, why delay the inevitable?

Seems to me like people are just piling on the negativity as if sitting through this football season isn't enough for them.

Sure do feel bad for Richardson. The one game the kid wasn't mentally destroyed was his first game against KU years ago, and that was the best he has looked. I was defending him up until that first pass against TTU. What in the world?

We need a bulldog out there. Somebody who takes hold when the going gets tough. I think Lanning could fit that mold.

Last Saturday was one of the worst coaching and game preparation performances I have ever seen. We put up less resistance than UTEP and SAM HOUSTON FREAKING STATE. Completely awful. I've never seen so many defenders completely out of position. That's coaching! Those defensive players have shown they are capable athletes. Don't even get me started about the offensive game plan. Running the ball at will and what do we do? Continuously drop back to pass, go 3 and out, take 20 seconds off the clock and give Tech the ball right back to score on us in about 20 more seconds.

I am to the point where I just laugh to lighten the situation. I will be very, very disappointed if we don't run Warren 30 times Saturday and attempt less than 20 pass plays. K-State (as they always do) laid out the game plan for how to compete with TCU, though I'm sure our coaches will completely ignore that.

THIS, 1000X THIS.

I agree but what would you rather give the new leadership next season? A QB with a few conference starts under his belt...or a guy that came in on gimmick packages. I'm not looking to Lanning to save anything. I'm looking to the future hoping Lanning could get us 4 wins next season under a new HC.

I just don't get why people think we have to change, this EXACT offense works everywhere else in the country. It's the most simplified offense in the game today and puts all the emphasis on coaches, if we can't execute, its not of the spread. Its on the coaching staff. K State runs the spread offense, has the same recruiting hurdles, recruits a similar level of talent....I'm not sure why we wouldn't look to them as the example of exactly what we should be doing. Get a few good athletes and build your offense to their strengths, who cares about style points. Snyder would run a QB draw every single play if it was moving the ball (see KSU @ ISU last season).

To me, it doesn't matter if we fire Rhoads now or wait until the end of the season. But my guess is Pollard will wait.

Nothing wrong with that, the next coach isn't on the roster anyway.
