Minute Splits

Ok coach Bode, you don't like Thomas's 35% three point percentage in conference play and likely over 40% in the last few weeks. My thoughts; you need to stick to whatever it is you do because even if you aren't very good at it, its better than your coaching ability. Thomas will stay at his around 16 minutes a game. We need to rest Monte as much as possible.

edit: 50% in the last 5 games, yeah sit his ***!

I have Monte at around 33 minutes which I don't think is too many.

I'd prefer Edozie to get these minutes, but if you're asking between Thomas and Jackson, I'd prefer the guy who is not going to miss most of his shots. I don't think Jackson would take as many as Thomas.

The rest of the regular season backs up my point.

For the season BDJ is shooting 33.3% from 3, Thomas is 32.2%.

You are literally using 1 make/miss over the entire season for Thomas as reasoning to give him 0 minutes vs 31 for BDJ.

Naz has been valuable for many big games, especially in clutch moments. IMO you have to take what you get with him even if he's done it more often in 2013 and 2014 than 2015.

I could argue that he has lost us more games than Thomas has because of his shooting. If Naz is off, he just keeps shooting, if Thomas is off, he gets benched.

Hoiberg is going to play the hot hands every game. Right now, it looks like BDJ and Thomas should get more time than Naz.

I value Naz's clutch ability a lot so I say he stays in big role.

When Jones was getting big time minutes, he was great in December (though against weaker competition). Has shown moments of promise in conference but haven't received enough PT to get out of slump.

This is how our minutes splits should end up:

Niang 31
Hogue 28
McKay 28 (Posts I want to keep fresh for Final 4 so don't give too much over 30 min)
Long 31
Morris 33
Jones 31 (how does anybody expect him to get in any rhythm with these sporadic minutes)
Nader 18 (Still want to give him minutes as has shown he can be a sneaky scorer)
Jackson/Edozie come in for foul trouble depending on the position.

This smells like a recipe for success! Thoughts?

Ahh good, we've gotten to the point where you argue against your own points. Should all be over soon.

1) Take a larger sample size than December, the regular season proves my point.

2) We need to give more minutes to BDJ to give him a chance to get on a role, but he's played 250 more minutes than Thomas this season, so wouldn't Thomas benefit even more from your logic? How can you expect Thomas to get on a role with such sporadic minutes? He hasn't received enough PT to get out of slump.

As I said earlier, I'd prefer to play Edozie between the 2 for the foul trouble minutes. But between Thomas and Jackson, yeah I'll take Jackson.

Wow. We need a thumbs down button or negitive rep or something, because I don't think I can state exactly how awful I think this post is and need to call it stupid in more ways than 1.
