Mike and Mike

I am trying to say something sarcastic but I can't. Text broke my sarcasm function. **** Texas. I am going to cheer for a coach who played at Iowa against a coach who coached at Iowa State next week. This is what that game did to me. I hate the Big 12.

I would love to hear the conversation between the head referee and the booth review referee when they were discussing the goal line fumble/touchdown play.

I think the rationale used was that they couldn't see the ball as they ball carrier hit the ground. However if a little basic logic was applied there was irrefutable evidence as there was separation between George and the ball carrier when he hit the ground. Unless you believe that the ball was teleported between the ball carrier's hands and George's hands George had to have it when he hit the ground as it was never seen in the empty space between the two after the ball carrier landed and before George showed the ball.

When we were walking out of the game last night, ushers were handing out coupons from Casey's for a free order of breadsticks (with the order of a large pizza). So we didn't get COMPLETELY screwed.
Yeah, nice to get a good night kiss, isn't it? Except they forgot to leave the $20 on the dresser.

A game and a speech like that has to play well to recruits. After a rough start, I feel like we are back on track.
We're back on track and we're young. This was going to be a tough year, but if we can see solid improvement for the rest of the season, next year is potentially looking good.

Listening to Mike and Mike in the Morning, they played CPR speech. Both agreed that it was a fumble and ISU should have won the game. They also mentioned the announcer at right before the ref made the call say, "I think it is a fumble, but they will give it to TX."

Not only that, but they both had nothing but good things to say about CPR.

Nobody is happy, but now we have national recognition that the call went the wrong way.

Great. We should have had a 97 yard offensive TD and a 99 yard defensive TD. At least now the nation felt sorry for us for 30 seconds.

I do feel good about this team the rest of the year and next. I feel bad for them.

That is the bad thing: without the review I would have a guessed that George stole the ball after the guy was down. I don't know how anyone could review that play with the audio and come up with the conclusion that the TX guy was down or the whistle was blown. Cowardly officiating is all it was. Yea, we screwed up on the field, but we are not going to change the call. If they would have overturn the ruling on the field they would have probably given ISU the ball on the 1 anyway.

Actually, watching live I knew it was a fumble and as soon as I saw the players stop I knew we were hosed. I never for a second thought we'd get that call during the review.

PS - I had no problem with the announcers.

A lot to complain about last night, the announcers were not one of them. They gave ISU more props, and knew our program and players better than anyone who has covered us. They had tons of fan interaction, tailgated with ISU fans, actually I thought it was quite complimentary.

I liked at the end where they said that regardless of what happened during the game this was still Texas vs. Iowa State and that Texas should beat Iowa State every year.

Yeah, I would agree. Looked like they had a fantastic time. Iowa State should be an annual trip for ESPN on Thursday nights.

Again, it was said in a way to emphasize that Texas has every advantage and when we say "every advantage" we mean every possible advantage.

Look at how we lost to their rag-tag BB team last year.
