Listening to Mike and Mike in the Morning, they played CPR speech. Both agreed that it was a fumble and ISU should have won the game. They also mentioned the announcer at right before the ref made the call say, "I think it is a fumble, but they will give it to TX."

Not only that, but they both had nothing but good things to say about CPR.

Nobody is happy, but now we have national recognition that the call went the wrong way.

Natl recognition huh.........we got screwed on purpose by the wonderful big 12 conference...that's the bottom line its just business as usual in the big 12....

Meh. We`re getting a lot of attention from the national media. But for us, it was just another day in the office

I'm tired of these moral victories and being cheated out of actual victories. For once, can the refs screw over the opposing team?

This is getting really, really old. I am glad CPR went off like he did, fine or not. This is exactly like the KU basketball game, and the OSU basketball game last year. ISU got cheated, plain as day, by officials that are more concerned about taking care of the "better" team than doing their jobs. I know this stuff happens all the time, but that is why they have instant replay, and it was pretty clear that the whistle had not blown and that the runner was not down on the replay. If the TX running back would have slipped out of that pile and gone in for the TD, they sure would have given it to him.

The bottom line is that ISU need to get a touchdown instead of a field goal at the end, so it was a two score game. Probably should have run on 3rd and 4th down. I knew 6 points was not going to be a big enough lead. That is just the way it is for the Cyclones.

It certainly doesn't make up for getting robbed, but since it happened it is good that people are pointing out that we really won. And CPR's brave speech deserves a lot of praise.

Um, no. This is the Longhorn Conference. Remember?

And the game was on the Longhorn Network II (ESPN) for goodness sake. It was a three hour commercial for the UT program for crying out loud. There wasn't a bunch of blatant disrespect, but 80% of the talk time was Texas this and Texas that. It's to be expected from the company that has such an interest in the 'Texas brand' being a success.

the espn commentators were texas homers as well. I don't know which one said it but "this is ISU Texas should always beat them" they seemed really biased

Makes me long for those FS1 announcers. Also trying to watch the replay but they showed we only had two flags half way through the third quarter. Then Bundrage caught that great pass and the TU got worried.

It sounded like that but i think he was referring to Texas having the tradition / recruits / paying coaches $4MM/year / ect.............they should be dominating the conference and beating ISU every year. I think he was trying to put down Mack Brown and the players and it came out as a dig against ISU.

My takeaway is that play reviews should never be about confirming bad calls on the field. Video review was put in place so that refs could get a better picture of what happened at that moment and make sure the correct call was made regardless of the color of their jerseys. Reversing the call would shown a mistake was made at that moment but it was corrected when given the opportunity. Last night just gives evidence that play reviews can also be used to cover their own butts.

Yeah, I don't think Jesse Palmer's statement was said in disrespect, more in here's the lay of the land way.

That is the bad thing: without the review I would have a guessed that George stole the ball after the guy was down. I don't know how anyone could review that play with the audio and come up with the conclusion that the TX guy was down or the whistle was blown. Cowardly officiating is all it was. Yea, we screwed up on the field, but we are not going to change the call. If they would have overturn the ruling on the field they would have probably given ISU the ball on the 1 anyway.

Name me a school that knows this routine better than Iowa State? How many schools have had obvious screw jobs that screw them out of an actual ******* win that occurs on national TV?

We'll be the darlings of the national media (the local media will still be ********) for a week.

At least now I have another game to mention when I want to talk about screw jobs.
