Nah, skip the English Mile, go to the Royal Mile . One of the 515 owners is on CF? Which one of you goobers is it!?

Jumbopackage, for sure. Not sure if any of the others are.

I find Exile mediocre. Nothing is bad, but nothing I'd go out of my way to get.

I really like Confluence, never been to their place but had lots of beers.

Haven't been to 515, which is a freaking shame, because I live maybe 10 minutes away.

I like the Royal Mile, if that's what people were talking about above. But I really like that type of beer, food, and atmosphere.
Yeah, I meant the Royal Mile (I always call it English -- don't know why).

Madhouse is having a release party tonight for their Iowa Hops IPA and just released two new beers: a heavy Mexican Stout called "El Hefe" and a sour beer (can't remember the name) just a few weeks ago. Their taproom isn't huge and is still a bit of a work in progress but I love their beer. Good variety and worth checking out.

Confluence has the best beer.

I don't care for Exile beer that much (It's fine) but their patio/location is choice on a nice day.

I tried probably 7 or 8 Exile beers. Out of those I've had one that I enjoyed(elephant squat).

This may surprise some people but some of the best beer you can get in town is the specialty stuff that Rock Bottom produces. El Bait Shop will sometimes have 5-10 of their beers and they are pretty amazing.

Another hidden gem if you like Belgians is the Red Monk. It's amazing that we have a bar like this is Des Moines Iowa. You'd be hard pressed to find the same kind of selection anywhere in the midwest. Of course you will pay for it and may pass out after 3-4 beers.

An insider told me Torrent is having a food truck in the parking lot Saturday evening. Sounds to me like a great stop after the spring game for a post-game Cyclone tailgate and breakdown. If you beat me there the beers on the house!:jimlad:

Is that a challenge because I can camp out for free beer.

Yep. It's been said that Eric is the best brewer in the state.
