Michigan State vs. Iowa

Hopefully we all remember what problems can occur when we don't take care of business in September.

We were tied until 2:14 left in our game with them. They had no business being in the BIG championship game.

Oh, I dunno. The blowout ISU losses don't bother me much. The "what if" scenarios still bug me quite a bit. I think this is better.

Not a chance. I can easily forget the blowouts. It still eats me up inside when I actually think about some of the close what ifs. And this was a what if to be one of four teams to get an opportunity for a national championship.

That Scott guy was my MVP, poor Cook had a noodle arm but did come through on that pass that threaded the needle on final drive.

Whoops.

I think she tweeted a similar message during ISU-KSU game, thinking she has not really grasped how much time there is in a football game..

I am going to go against the grain here. A great effort by a bunch of overachievers. Beat everyone, regardless of how bad they were.....to put themselves in a position to play for the whole bag of nuts. Not a Hawk fan.....but cannot fault their effort or their successful year.

I agree. They played one hell of a game tonight in a position we dream of being in. They benefited from an easy schedule, but proved they belonged tonight. Hats off to them.

The B10 really needs to rethink their conference divisions, so that the 4th or 5th best team in the B10 never makes it to the conference championship game ever again.

I'm amused by the Hawkeye fans coming here right after an absolutely brutal loss. What do you expect?

Iowa surprised me by keeping it close for longer than I thought they would, and they made one of the two huge plays of the game - the long TD pass (with the other being MSU's INT in the end zone) - but Michigan State imposed their will on a 22 play drive to get the win, and that's really, really impressive, and maybe just a little embarrassing for the Iowa defense.

Now the question is if Iowa can stay ahead of Ohio State in the rankings to get the Rose Bowl. I don't think they will, but they gave themselves a shot at doing so. I think Iowa will be headed to the Fiesta or the Peach, likely against Notre Dame or Houston.
