Miami Fan Board Nuggets

I'm curious - having watched zero seconds of their games this year until garbage time last night - whether they get steals / force turnovers by jumping passing lanes (which we can be quite vulnerable to) or whether it more of a pressure/physicality (like TTU). I'm guessing it's the former, in which case we need to be very clean running that high post action.

Given their lack of size, I'd expect this to be a game where we go small with Kunc/Enaruna running that high ball handoff action, which is very good.
They are extremely quick and athletic, particularly at the guard spot so without watching them much more than you I'd say your assumption is probably correct.

Hey Miami, **** you and your fantastic weather year round.
They're city is sinking, so they deserve 1 nice thing. Like mentioned both teams should feel good about the draw but I think teams who haven't played us are at a huge disadvantage with how our D plays. If we shoot 30ish from 3 and 40ish overall we win, if not it's a crapshoot.

I forgot what it was like seeing other teams that weren't use to such a physical brand of basketball deal with ISUs intensity. Wiskys body language through most of that game was terrible. We'll see how Miami deals.
Thinking back on the game - they had that one run in the first half where Davis got a couple transitions baskets and went to the line a couple times and I think Davison made a three. But we recovered and Davis utterly disappeared in the second half. For all his "second half player... let the game come to him" nonsense, he just went away.

I don’t think him moving to the pg role helped him any

Reading what people said here I was like cool. Unless I misunderstood one of them compared their team to Tech. They are absolutely nothing like Tech. They also all seem to think they are a bad matchup for us.

I think it will be a close game that really depends on us taking care of the ball and making shots.

"we are similar to TT"

Lol, yeah the 128th ranked defense is similar to the best defense in the country.

Everyone thinks they matchup well with us.

On paper everyone does. It's funny, every game thread on reddit there are people saying both teams are trash. What a coincidence that every non conference team we play suddenly becomes bad at offense.

One of the times that Johnny Davis was at the free throw line, you could see him huffing and puffing. Having dawgs in your face for 40 minutes straight will wear you down. If we stay within 2-3 possessions through the first 20-25 minutes, we will be good.

Miami's path to victory would probably go one of two ways:

1. They are able to turn us over and get their transition game going so they can get enough easy points outside of the half court.

2. We have one of our terrible jump shooting games and we miss open shot after open shot.
Gave will be posting up a lot I think. Maybe see if grill can also. With shorter players, we maybe be able to go inside.

I was watching in the background because of the women’s game. What I saw looked like a pretty athletic team. Got out in transition.

We’ll need to take care of the ball. Not exactly a strength of ours. I’m not overly concerned with missed shots. With misse shots, and least you’re getting one up there. Turnovers will kill us in this game if we allow it.

This is another really interesting matchup. Wisconsin was our team that forces turnovers versus team that doesn’t turn it over and we came out ahead. This one is going to come down to if we keep the live ball turnovers to a minimum and limit their transition game.

Does Miami turn it over though? It’s the breakout easy points I’m worried about.

252 minutes? How many OTs are you thinking here?

I haven’t seen Auburn for more than a couple minutes. What are they like? Just so I have an idea of what style Miami beat. Who did they have as the 7 seed?
