Is it possible to merge PDF's into a single file using Adobe Acrobat Reader? Or do I need to get some other (expensive?) software?

Thanks a lot.

If you have a Mac you can use Automator to do it. There are tutorials online just search for "automator pdf merge."

I haven't done this for a while though, so hopefully it still works.

I think with pdfcreator (freeware) you can drag both files in and combine them

Great tool...I've been using it for several years.

pdfforge.org | The free PDF Creator and Converter

Just be aware, pdfcreator setup does try to install a third party toolbar (which has varied over the year, AVG now I think), probably to raise revenue. Choose the custom/advanced setup option, and you can disable whatever toolbar it wants to install.

You can get a 30 day trial of acrobat from adobe. I don't know if this is a one time deal or not for you, but I used that for one of my projects one semester.

I like pdfill at pdfill.com. Free pdf writer and image writer (tif, jpg, etc.) and various pdf tools like split and merge.

LaTeX will do it for free, but it would take some learning if you don't know how to use it

while we are on this topic I know acrobat allows the creating of pdfs that allow digital signatures. Are the other options anyone likes. I have used Acrobat before and like it, just seeing if there is something else that will not cost $200-$300.
