East Side Bath Rooms

Does anyone sit on the east side they took out the mens bathroom that was right in the middle which really sucks. You have to go to the college kids side which the line is a mile long or you have to go clear to the other side where the give you kyboes what is up with that crap:no::no::no:

You've questioned the decision making of the athletic department and posted a negative comment regarding ISU.

Prepare to be ripped in half.

(Answer is they needed the space for the renovated Jack Trice Club - I don't like it either).

I checked the line twice during the first half and did not waste my time. left before half and went outside to the porta potties. I sent Jamie an email during the game (from my verizon wireless blackberry; cha ching shameless plug) and got a reply at 942 that night.

My 8 year old had to go and i sent him in with my wife, she said "he is too old for the women's restroom" and i said look at the line and then tell me that. he went in the women's with her.:wideeyed:

Jamie just sits there in his office...waiting to answer dozens of emails regarding bathrooms/club section food selection/uniforms/sweet caroline/thursday night games/the Iraq war and Palin vs Biden.

I really don't care about any of those.

But what does he think about the partical accelerator bringing about the end of the world - and will that have an impact on our chances against iowa?

trying...to ...point it at Iowa City as I type....

The lines would be easier to handle if there were lines for both mens and womens. Just even out the number of mens and womens bathrooms. Or maybe make the ratio a little closer. Seriously I started at the south end and it was like womens, womens, womens, womens, womens, oh look the consession stand at the north end has a huge line, no that's the mens line.

I did notice some women taking thier sons into the womens to skip the line. I don't know the proper age cutoff, but they looked way too old to me. But I guess they didn't want to wait...

I'm not crazy then. Some of the boys I saw going in with their moms looked 9 or 10 to me. I don't know what rules women use, but it looked way to old to me. I think the sign at the gym says no opposite sex over the age of 3.

Boys in the women's restroom - oh no! :biglaugh:

I think with the minor changes on the east side, a restroom and concession issue was easily predictable. Not good to hear a temporary resolution (port-a-potty) hasn't been put in place.

No - I'd rather he wait to do the Club section until he does the east side renovation. I really don't see the need to do it all at once, at the inconvenience of thousands.

Yes, I agree. The renovations MUST continue this off season. Although I'm not sure they are planned to do so, are they? People everywhere on the east side were pretty torqued on Saturday. Forever to get through lines, both restroom and concessions. I get a kick out of the fact that there seem to be only TWO condiment stations on the entire east side of the stadium - and they're generally empty by about the 2nd qtr.

Just a handful of dumb stuff going on over there. At least this year they didn't run out of water the first game. Of course, it wasn't 90 degrees, either.

Yeah, BUT, they needed that Club money to pay for the Phase 1. I personally have no doubt that Pollard will get the east side completed this offseason. IMO donors are going to see how bad things are there and step up. Like I said, I just strolled down the steps and was back in my seat in 5 minutes.

I'm actually not certain we'll see additional renovations to JTS following this season. It's quite possible it will be another year or two before the east side of the stadium is finished.

On the Thursday game, we went over and checked out the west side. I was literally in and out, no waiting.

Saturday, I stayed on the east side and found the same thing as many people here. Seriously, there are 4-5 women's rooms in a row. Took forever.

I waited in line behind Wallace Franklin for almost 10 minutes. It was quite frustrating looking fof a potty and seeing nothing but womans with no wait.

I don't know - I'd have to see the math on it. There already were clubs seats there, right? How much did we gain from premium and/or additional seating this one year? You may be right, but I'm skeptical. According to the rag, the addition of the club seats AND the suites will bring in 1.8MM this year. I have to think the lion's share of that are the suites and the club are a fairly minor part.

That's what I'm afraid of. Sounds like it could be two or three years. And that will suck bigtime.

Unless cash shows up, earliest the east side will be done is after the '09 season. The basketball practice facility happening this fall had an impact on that.

IMO...

basketball practice facility > east side renovations.

And I'd say that even if I were on the east side. However, it won't be fun for the fans over there. Hopefully there's a temporary solution in the works to help with the restroom situation.
