Meeting

Markshir- We went 2-10 last year...we don't need heart right now, we need wins, and to do this we need someone with more than he's got. We need someone that can go out there on gameday and pull it off against the hawks and OSU. I just don't see him developing to the point that you're talking about.

You don't understand. In Texas the kids LIVE AND BREATH tee-collecting...it's just a different mentality. We've got to recruit our tee-collectors from the southern states...maybe we can get our water boy from Iowa.

Maybe Louisiana?. I hear they have excellent water boys. One by the name of Bobby Boucher from the late 90s springs to mind.

Don't judge jsmith86 - he might not come in highly rated but if you let him grey shirt he could have up to six years in the program for strength and conditioning and learning the position. What he lacks in size and speed he could make up in heart.

Who would be the better strength coach for this tee collector McGettigan or Sheppard? :jimlad:

Back to reality,

This isnt official, because the meeting hasnt taken place yet, but word is, the new Strength coach at ISU could be Tom Myslinski from the Browns. Should know more later on.

Was Myslinski the S&C coach at the Browns in 2008, or is he just their former S&C coach?

So you know enough about him to want him as your DC, but you didn't even know his name? Do you really know anything about him beyond what can be inferred from the post (i.e. he is from Clemson)?

I read his resume when his name was posted in another thread. I thought he sounded like a firery up and comer that might light a spark under our guys. Just couldn't recall his name and was too lazy to look it up.

I don't really get it...I would think S&C for an NFL team would be head and shoulders better than ISU?

If true this seems like a fantastic hire!

Actually that was more of a pre-emptive strike against the complaints that are sure to come, added jimlad for clarification! Think it's a great hire as well, especially for the spelling police!

Crennel just got fired. I imagine this guy would have been out of a job, too.

ill just take this time to renounce what i said a while ago when chizik left:

Colin Franklin is staying and is very excited. I was told by his roommate that he was leaving but after hearing that Herman was gonna be OC he was very pleased. I guess he found out that Herman really likes to use the TE's in the passing game. So i just wanted to set everyone straight.

I was never concerned about C Franklin leaving. He has used his RS and is 3 years into the 5 year clock. He either would have had to forfeit one of his final 2 years or drop down to a lower division.

I hate to go back on this, but Pollard made a difficult decision. There was a drop in revenue coming in, the team on the field was looking like it was beginning to drop and he made a BUSINESS decision. Thats his job.

Now fast forward..Mac has gone to Florida, is a GREAT assistance coach like we all knew he would be. Has a National Title under his belt and I might be the minority here, but he actually might have some interest in joining Paul and the other old coaches. I do not think it will happen, but its not like Mac would walk into Pollards office with a flaming bag of poo.

I had to stop and laugh when I thought of that. Wonder what JP's reaction would be? Probably something along the lines of....
"Judas Priest, Ellen, it's one of those flaming bags again!"

Sorry to be way off topic.
