McCabe arrested for assualt

I don't read their sites, just telling you what I heard from my cousin who's a junior there. It would explain why Fran would get involved.

Seems like bait from a troll.

THE ONLY COMBINE McCABE will see in his future is a John Deere, with him as the driver

Very funny.

To build on it, if you had a quarter million piece of equipment, would you let this hothead drive it?

Who said it had to be a new modern one, there are still rattrap open combines around if you look. It's what he deserves to pilot

I guess if he's a farmer owning $12,000 acre prices, more power to him. If this 'victim' was trashing him on Twitter, I'm happy McCabe jacked him:twitcy:

McCabe is a complete POS. Just because someone spouts off on Twitter (which I think everyone is in agreement that it is beyond stupid and the kid was certainly a DB) doesn't give you the right to sucker punch them in the face. Zach has been a pretty black eye for the program the last six months, and I really wish he would just go away.

I would really like to feel sorry for the kid after the whole twitter fiasco earlier this year, but once I saw some of his old tweets directed at James Vandenberg during the 2012 football season, I really can't. Seems like Zach will throw a temper tantrum like a 3 year old when he gets called out on social media, but has not problem dishing it out to fellow UofI student athletes.

I wonder if Iowa should stop recruiting Siouxland. Wegher, McCabe, Woodbury. A few dandies up that way.

With all the tavernhawks and nebbie fans, it would be hard to be a Cyclone fan up there

Didn't you guys boo Jake Christensen into tears and a transfer (with a 17 to 6 TD/INT ratio)? I thought that was just par for the course.

Not sure if you are trying to imply that booing players is unique to the Hawkeye fanbase, but no, as far as I know JC never cried due to it and transferred after loosing his starting spot to Stanzi.

Nice try though.

He didnt lose his starting job to Stanzi is some friendly QB competition. The kid was essentially run out of town by your fan base. Had Twitter been around then, good lord, I can only imagine the death threats and terrible things you people would have been throwing at the kid.

I see your ESL classes are paying off, and will take a stab at this one. I think what you are trying to say is that he didn't lose his QB job to Stanzi (which he certainly did after the Pit game), and that it wasn't a friendly competition (guess I really don't know how things went in practice, but have heard that he was a great teammate the rest of the year and helped out tremendously in Bowl prep). How you can say he was run out of town by the fan base is beyond me, but realize its most likely just hyperbole.

As far as what would have transpired if Twitter would have been around, I have no idea. I do know that there are always a hand-full of idiots who seem to be the most vocal when it comes to calling out athletes, and that is not unique to Iowa.

After ISU had a fan/student make racist tweets to an opposing basketball player after a game I thought you might understand that. I was also at a few games during the A. Arnaud era and heard some things from the student section that I'm sure wouldn't have made him feel nice.

This is a load of crap-not surprising considering who it's coming from.
